i decided to go with my Mob’oween AU, if that’s alright with you

The first time Shou used magic, it was during dinner.

(He thinks it’s the first time anyway. Or maybe he used it before, but it looked like psychic powers.)

(He was never good at differentiating between them.)

He was at home with mom and dad (it was at a time when they were all happy, or when Shou thought they were happy, which honestly doesn’t make much of a difference for him) and mom had made her special chicken recipe, the really spicy one.

Mom had put the chicken on the table, and she was going to cut it when Shou accidentally bent his fork.

(It happened a lot when he was little. Now, not so much.)

At the time, dad was away a lot for his buisness (of course, now Shou knows it was all a lie, all for Claw and his stupid world domination plan) and he had never seen Shou do it.

Dad was so surprised, he smiled.

(Even then, dad didn’t smile a lot, much less at Shou.)

And suddenly, the chicken was alive.

At first, no one reacted. You don’t react to your dinner coming back to life.

Then mom gasped and dad looked horrified and Shou doesn’t remember anything else. Everything went black.

When he woke up, the chicken was on his chest and mom was sitting by his side. She was - worried isn’t a strong enough word - she looked at him like she thought he had died.

(Later, she would tell him it was the case. Playing with life and death has consequences. Shou was lucky it was only a chicken he brought back to life.)

She said it was her fault, said she didn’t know it was possible to have both psychic powers and magic.

She didn’t say it, but dad had scared her again.

(Now, Shou knows it was then that dad completed his plan. Because Shou was the proof that everything he wanted was possible.)

(Shou also knows it was then that mom decided to leave.)

For your Mobween au have you decided what kind of creature Shou is going to be? And may I ask what kind of role is Claw going to fill for the AU?

your question actually arrives at the right time, because i’ve finally thought about Claw enough to be able to answer this (more or less)

warning : this is going to be long

first of all, all of Claw is made of humans (the only exception being Serizawa, who is a man-made person). some are espers, some are witches, all are aware the world also includes non-human/non-spirits sentient creatures

(which is a long way to say werewolves/vampires/demons/etc.)

now in a world where creatures like that exist, can Touichirou’s stance of “the world belongs to espers” still stand ?

the answer is yes… sort of

Touichirou started like in canon, with strong as hell ESPs that lead him to believe he was the center of the world

except then he heard about demons from his wife, who happens to be a witch

(the conversation was something like “hey how come your powers seem so different from mine aren’t you an esper too” “yeah no” “then how” “demons” “???????” “well you see one of my ancestors was a dick”)

long story short, learning that there are creatures with such strong powers who are not him did not sit well with Touichirou. who then decided to wait until he finds a demon and then he will EAT it. that way he will be the very best like no one ever was

and also he hates the idea of being inferior to anything, so he decides to found a “club of humans who have a superiority-inferiority complex and also powers (either psychic or spiritual/magic)” to help him rule the world and also to spite demons who think they’re so much better

(Touichirou you’re projecting. Touichirou no. demons don’t care about you most of them are extinct and the rest are mixed. Touichirou stop)

so. details on Claw now that we cleared up how it exists in this AU

the hierarchical organization is still mostly the same, Touichirou still wants to make more people with powers (his motivation now has a side of spite too) and also use them as reservoirs (??? is this the english word im too tired to look it up) in case of emergency

the Super 5 are :

man-made person Serizawa with superhuman strength who is very much afraid of hurting someone accidentally. given he stays alive even if he loses vital organs, it is probable he was put in motion through magic and not science (fuck you Frankenstein). rejected by his creator soon after his “birth”, spent an awful lot of time living in the sewers before Touichirou found him by following rumors. doesn’t have any magic/ESPs, but then again he can easily punch a hole in a barrier with little to no problem. can also punch spirits into oblivion

plant witch Minegishi who still doesn’t really like plants but his magic works the best with them. also you better care for your plants if you are near him because he will confiscate them because while he may not like them he can also do better than you and that is reason enough. will especially take any plants as far away as possible from Shimazaki, who absolutely sucks at even keeping them alive, almost as if he’s draining their energy

human esper Shimazaki whose powers are already too much in canon, there’s no need to give him magic too. likes weird food. talks too much. i don’t have much on him yet. might be a mixed demon/vampire/not sure yet, except very diluted so even he doesn’t know about it and it doesn’t really affect his powers, aside from making his perception more acute

tech witch Hatori who never had anyone to teach him how the fuck his powers work, so he learned things on the internet through witchy communities. one of the first actual witch (with a demon eating ancestor) to try using technology as a medium. still has no idea how things work most of the time

werewolf esper Shibata. you don’t want to meet him during the full moon because his powers tend to go a bit wild. he is pretty much in touch with his wolf side though

Shou now

like i mentioned earlier, his mom is a witch. and he inherited both the witch blood and the ESPs from his parents. he only knows that because one time he actually made a chicken resurrect from his plate

(ESPs can change things according to nature. magic doesn’t give a fuck about even the most elementary rule of “dead is dead”. which is a reason demons used to be hunted because that power is so fucking huge. demons don’t care though. it’s not in their nature to care. they just like doing their own thing)

Shou has no idea what power he is using most of the time, he just thinks “i want that” and concentrates on making it happen. technically this means he has a lot of raw power and could do miracles. but it also means he can go down really easily if he uses his witchcraft too much, since magic is tied with life energy

he kept the chicken as a pet. it is still alive to this day, probably because Shou feeds it all the spirits he finds, so that the spiritual energy that animates it doesn’t disappear. it is now his familiar

Claw’s role

while their motivations and goals are still mostly the same, a lot of things won’t happen the same, mostly because of Ritsu. so I’m still not sure

what I do know is that Touichirou will be happy when he meets Mob. and he will also look terrifying, honestly drawing him grinning was the most disturbing thing i’ve ever done rip me

no one but Ritsu knows who did the more damage - Mob or the werewolf. the werewolf /did/ know... when they were alive. y’know. we don’t talk about it.

(the werewolf died because Mob absorbed their vital energy. normally demons feed on magic and/or spiritual beings (like ghosts), but when the person in question doesn’t have any magic... yeah.)

Ritsu being turned a werewolf, his demon blood is... sleeping. it frustrates him to no end

until you know. /stressful events/ reactivate the demon abilities. (ritsu no) the werewolf side means he doesn’t suffer from demonic hunger so there’s that at least

his body gets wolfier the closer to the full moon he is. he remains very hairy no matter what tho
