I just read this post of yours and I agreed with everything you said. I watched the musical last month without much knowledge of Wicked or Oz (sorry…), and was so confused when Elphaba and Fiyero getting together. I still don’t understand what Elphaba sees in him… I thought the book would explain that better, but your post seems to suggest not. Elphaba and Glinda have obvious chemistry but Fiyero and Elphaba…I see none. I’m still so upset with the ending because how dare him taking Elphaba away from Glinda. To me Wicked is somehow a lesbian tragedy.
ModC (who wrote that post) responds: rants are okay, I like rants. I just reread my rant and honestly over a year later, I still agree with it. I’m glad someone else does, and if you want to read the book but can’t afford to buy it, send @subtletyislost an im and we can talk about sending you a pdf version.
I’m not sure about lesbian tragedy, but def I feel a wlw tragedy (maybe one of them is bi or ace idk).I’d say more but it’s been quite a while since I’ve done anything for the Wicked Fandom. I’ll have to attempt fixing that
