Tell us a bit about yourself: I'm Christina! I'm a queer lady from the southern US who is currently a retail worker (such joy). I've been active in some fandom or other since I was about 12 or so, way back on Yahoo! Groups to LiveJournal and now on Tumblr. I love chatting about head canons and crossovers and generally yelling about whatever I'm writing at that moment.
What brought you to The Old Guard fandom? I'll be real honest, if Charlize Theron is in it? I'm there. Carte blanche. She's one of my favorite actresses and I especially love her action roles. I saw she had a new movie coming out and then saw some gifs and watched it. Once I watched it, I was GONE. I was so amazed by not only the physicality of it but also how I immediately believed that these people had been close for hundreds of years. I love it in the same way I IMMEDIATELY loved Pacific Rim.
What do you read and love? I will read JUST about everything. I love reading about characters or situations I wouldn't have considered - be that in alternate universes or even universe alterations. I'm fascinated by tropes being turned on their head as well as all the different ways fandom comes together for a broader understanding of fic. I LOVE Nile-centric fics. As far as pairings I love, my favorites are Joe/Nicky, Andy/Quynh (/Nile and any combination therein), and I really enjoy Booker/Nile. I will read just about anything, if I'm being honest! I have a fondness for poly fics and explorations of relationships. I'm a sucker for a coffeeshop AU or a teacher AU (I.E. They're both teachers/professors). I will read it all, mostly!!
What won't you read? I tend to stray away from dark!fic, but I will give it a shot, if the tags are mindful. I think that some dark fics are great ways to explore a dark past and what-not, and obviously, there are other things to consider within The Old Guard fandom and fic writing portion of fandom. I have some squicks - I don't really enjoy reading about Keane or Merrick (beyond their original villain roles, I mean) and I don't tend to enjoy A/B/O fics.
What's your favourite fic so far? Don't want your lessons in love, I want to tear it all up by RocioWrites - I have read and reread this fic half a dozen times because it had such an impact on me. It's Nile-Centric and specifically, AROMANTIC Nile-Centric, which means a lot to this Aromantic lady! It's also full of team hijinks and bonding and feels like reading about a family.
