Legion Soldier Spotlight Sunday: Gaius Magnus

Welcome to Legion Soldier Spotlight Sundays, where I, Mod Drusus, showcase different Legion soldiers, both known and obscure, and give a few fun facts or spotlight interesting things about them.

Our first LSSS is...

Gaius Magnus!

Gaius Magnus is a centurion located in Dry Wells, who only appears after the player character decides to nuke it at the final battle of Lonesome Road.

This particular centurion stands out from the rest due to the fact that he conquered the 87th tribe that Caesar’s Legion assimilated, and was given the distinct honor of wearing the Armor of the 87th Tribe, presumably custom-made for him. 

Gaius Magnus stands out as he is one of the few characters with a perfect 10 in every stat, making him not only an incredibly tough fight, but quite humorous when one notices he has an 11 in Charisma thanks to his armor.

(Question for druscus) what are your head cannons for Lanius?

Most of my headcanons don’t really deviate from the portrayal of this blog, though I have a few beliefs, for starters, I don’t believe Lanius is a title, and the rather contradictory backstories are simply ways to hype him up as a mysterious warrior, same thing with the stories of how violent he is, while it holds a grain of truth, a lot of it is Legion embellishment for intimidation.

Will legionaries use technology & chems in the future, or will it always remain the same?

I doubt it. Caesar punishes such things quite gravely, even if a few characters from the Legion do break the rules. I believe that even without Caesar, the indoctrination of the Legion is long-lasting and such a mindset would most likely still remain. Some may stray from this, but if the Legion’s fanaticism is still upheld, then there will be consequences.
