"Cross." A deep voice said from behind him. Cross freezes in his tracks. "Hi, Boss." He said as cheerful as he could be, turning around to face the King of Negativity.
Nightmare was unamused. Cross was trying to sneak out of the castle. While he could leave when ever he wanted as long as he isn't on a mission or punishment, it was always very odd. Especially at 3:00 a.m in the morning. "Where are you going?" Nightmare asked, raising a bonebrow.
"Just to look at the lovely night sky! Isn't the darkness lovely?!" Cross asked, with the biggest, fakest smile on his face. "It is. And you are a horrible liar, Cross. Something's bothering you. I can tell. This is the fifth time this week I've caught you up around this time." Nightmare stated. Cross sighed and looked down.
"I'm just not tired." Cross said. "Cross, I swear if you lie to me one more time I'm going to put you on cleaning duty. You have bags under your eyes and you like you're going to pass out." Nightmare said, coming closer.
Cross swallowed and nodded. Nightmare sighed. One of his tentacles grabbed Cross. "H-Hey! Put me down! I can walk!" He protested.
Nightmare shook his head. "You're sleeping with me tonight."
"Excuse me?!" Cross asked, his face going a deep purple. "You've been hanging around Lust too long. I mean actual sleeping, dumbass." Nightmare said, rolling his eyes.
"O-Oh." Cross mumbled something under his breath. Nightmare said nothing else as the walked back to his room. Cross relaxed. He liked being carried around. Lazyass-
Nightmare opened and closed the door to his room. He laid Cross on his bed. Cross shivered and covered himself up with a blanket. Nightmare laid next to him. Nightmare closed his eye, his tentacles wrapping around Cross, pulling the other closer. Cross looked up at Nightmare, blushing a deep purple. He snuggled closer for warmth. Cross yawned.
Cross closed his eyes and fell asleep. Nightmare opened his eye and smirked. He destroyed a nightmare that was about to form on Cross and absorbed the negativity. He chuckled softly, a light teal blush coming onto his face.
He pulled Cross closer and mumbled. "God, I love you."
