Hey all, long time no see!

I know it’s been quite a while since we’ve posted anything (it feels like over a year now!) but we wanted to make a post and update everyone on the current standing of the blog.

It’s been a hard few years (especially this one) for both me and Jonas, which is why we’ve been so in and out. We originally came on this blog to help the original creators, and we ended up deciding to keep it after they left for their various reasons because we had a lot of fun doing it and we knew it helped a lot of you out there have a way to vent/talk to others. Since then we’ve gone through a lot of changes, both on this blog and in life in general.

I’m sure most of you who are still around and reading this are thinking we’re just heading straight to shutting the blog down, and while we have been considering turning it into an archive for awhile we still aren’t dead set on ending TKFW’s life here and now. We had previously had a bunch of fun plans (a TKFW discord server being one) but life caught up with us and we had to make a choice. It was definitely unfair of us to leave without any warning, and trust me when I say we are deeply sorry for that, but that’s why I’m here making this post to all of you now.

We really do enjoy this blog and getting to meet new people through it. We know it’s been a great help to some of you in the past, and been the source for laughter and friendships all around. That’s why, before we make any final decisions, we want to ask you guys your thoughts on the matter.

Would you like to see us stick around? 

I’m honestly not really sure how many of you are still around using our inbox. We used to get somewhere around 50-70 asks a day, and I know that number has steadily decreased over the years. Not to say that’s necessarily a bad thing. We usually would get overwhelmed with messages, especially since it became just the two of us, which would lead to an unannounced hiatus on our part or the queue going dry for a week or two. We haven’t actually gotten many people asking if we’re still going to be posting, and personally my main reason for wanting to close to blog is simply lack of interest in it which leads me to feel a little less motivated to keep doing it. I can’t speak for Jonas on that part, but I’d like to lay out everything and be honest with everyone before a final decision is made.

So I know this turned out to be a pretty long post.. Sorry about that. We’d really appreciate any feedback on the matter, because as of right now we’re leaning more towards posting the rest of the asks in the inbox and archiving the blog. If anyone has some suggestions or thoughts on how you would like to see the blog proceed, please let us know!

Blog status update!

Hey everyone!

Thanks a lot to everyone who sent in asks in regards to our last post! We did a lot of thinking and we’ve come to a few decisions.

1. We plan on keeping the blog running with just the two of us for now. We’re going to see how things go once we empty the ask box again and go from there. After reading all of your thoughts we don’t just want to shut the blog down, but we don’t really want to give it away to someone else either. We’ve had it for so long, it really does hold a special place in our hearts!

2. We’re thinking about continuing with our plans to make a TKFW discord server, but we aren’t totally set on it yet. We used to run a lot of discord servers and they tended to die out after awhile so we got kind of discouraged with running them. If enough people are interested we might still go through with it, but if we do we will definitely need more mods to help run that. Let us know if you’d be interested!

3. After maybe a month or so if we decide we can’t handle running the blog on our own we might open up mod applications and see how that goes! We have a few concerns with this, but I won’t go into them right now. If we do decide to bring on new mods we will probably be asking some other people in the community that we know personally first, just because of some personal issues we have with previous mod things (on different places, no here!)

4. If we decide to keep running it just the two of us, we’ll probably be taking more seasonal hiatuses (during the winter holiday season, around our birthdays, etc.) so be prepared for that!

5. I would personally like to do some more community interaction things (maybe like sleepover saturday from ye olden tumblr days) just to have some more variety content being posted, but I’m unsure about the appeal any of you might have! Let us know if you’d be interested in seeing more things like that as well.

6. As for our two officially affiliated blogs, @kinfits & @elf-help, we probably aren’t going to keep running those anymore. The website we used to make all of the outfits for kinfits shut down and I honestly am not in a place right now where I can be freely giving out advice, so those will both be archived for now. Maybe once in awhile we’ll open up aesthetic requests or something and just post them here, but we’ll have to discuss that in the future!

So as of right now, we’re going to empty the inbox into the queue and probably do some messing around with how often the queue posts. I’m sorry about two long text posts in a row but I hope that this is good news for everyone! Look forward to regular posting again for the foreseeable future!

Hey everyone! Tiny update:

We’ve added a section to our rules that states our content cannot be reposted. This isn’t so that you guys can’t reblog it or saying that you guys don’t make our content, it’s so that if videos with screenshots of our blog get made we have recourse to have them taken down. So if you see that don’t worry, it’s not targeted towards our lovely submitters! It’s just a precaution to help prevent further harm to the community.

If anyone who has any... actual knowledge on copyrights and legal things who has any tips for this sort of thing, please let us know! We are doing everything in our power to help keep our followers safe!

Hi there! Thanks for informing us of this awful video, we’ve reported it for being insensitive. Obviously we don’t condone this type of behavior, no matter your belief on otherkin. These types of videos are extremely hurtful for people to watch, especially if, as he states in the video, someone is using otherkin as a coping mechanism. People who make these types of things and/or like them should feel ashamed of themselves.

FYI we will be updating the blog to include a TOU so that hopefully these types of videos will not be able to be published anymore, but youtube hardly pays attention so who knows. This is meant to be a safe place for people to come and vent or talk to others about their feelings. It is completely harmless and people like this who get their jollies from making fun of people who are different should really think about what their own problems are to make them so insecure they have to make fun of others who are hurting no one.

To our followers: I don’t recommend watching the video, it just gives him more views on it and commenting/creating more anger around the issue will only cause more problems. If you want to do something about it you can report it for bullying but hateful content like this gets made all the time and doesn’t get taken down so I’m not sure how much it would do. If anything just know that you are valid and some smarmy kid on the internet who’s too insecure about his own hair does not know better than you. You guys are the best and we hope you all have a great day!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts for awhile. I don’t really know what to say except life caught up with us and a mixture of being busy and personal things led to us not really having the time/energy to go through the inbox. I’m sincerely sorry for not giving any warning to this and I hope you can all understand.

Anyways we aren’t shutting the blog down! We’ll try to keep on a regular posting schedule, but things might be flaky since the school year has just started and we’re both taking a pretty huge course load. We may have some scheduled hiatuses from now on to prevent confusion and to keep the ask box from getting overwhelmingly filled.

As for our other two blogs ( @kinfits and @elf-help ) they will probably remain inactive for a bit until we can find the time to actually do the things necessary to keep them up. If you really want some advice then feel free to private message me @elf-help and I’ll respond but otherwise you can keep sending in asks and I’ll get to them as soon as I’m able to!

So I’m going to start queuing posts now. Let us know if you have any suggestions or thoughts or just anything really? It’s been awhile so we’re kind of messy.
