Poll 1 Results + Future Outlook

Hello all - sorry for the big hold up, us admins genuinely had a lot to do over summer and we’ve had some communication issues in the past few days (not between us as people, but because of technology being weird). Now that things are sorted out, we can finally announce that:

Judai Yuki x Tyranno Kenzan will be referred to as Evolveshipping, with 71.4% of the vote.

Haou x Yubel will be referred to as Reunionshipping, with 57.1% of the vote.

We are aware that there is some controversy/uncertainty regarding the treatment of Judai and Haou as separate/not separate for shipping purposes, and have been aware for some time now. We will be tackling this issue in the third phase of the ship list polls, so don’t worry - to make life easier, we will temporarily treat Haou + Judai as separate individuals/personalities, until a verdict is decided upon.

As for the next phase of the polling and making of the ship list, this next step is probably the biggest. Now that discrepancies have been ironed out, we can get onto the abbreviated/formalised ship list!

We mods went through the long ship list a few months ago, and compiled a list of all GX ships for which there is content on the internet (that we are aware of). We will be putting this list up soon and leaving it for discussion/up for change, after which a poll will follow to formalise the changes. We should have this done in the next week or so.

Regarding Tutorshipping

As we did get an ask about it (thanks for reminding us by the way, OP!) we might as well clarify what this ship blog’s stance is on the name of the Judai x Misawa ship:

If you’re not sure of what happened: the ship was originally known as Orangeshipping, but due to overlap with a Pokemon ship, the shippers appear to have switched to using an alternate name, Tutorshipping. This actually makes things easier for us, because that’s one fewer ship to rename!

We’ll be sticking to Tutorshipping on our upcoming list!

(That list will be coming probably early June. We mods still have some sorting out to do, and personal life stuff means a couple of us don’t have as much time to devote to this blog until June. We’re still answering questions and all that, so don’t worry!)

If you have any more concerns, just ask, and we’ll answer. Apart from that: we’ll have more developments at the start of June.

If they don't already have a name (I know it's not REALLY a ship but it should be) Dark Magician x Judai should be Poundshipping. (He says in the subs 'he's going to give me a real pounding)

Hi - we can add new ship names, but we are only taking serious names for ships with proof of shipping - ie. some content existing for said ship.

As much fun as it is to make up ship names, it ends up bloating the ship list and filling it with needless names. At the moment, we are working on a shortened ship list, only including ships with some proof of shipping online. We will be posting this up and encouraging discussion/edits quite soon.

If you do find content and want to submit that ship, then sure. For now though, we aren’t taking names if there is no genuine shipping.

can i make a quick suggestion? I know some people are a little worried about ships being removed even if they don't have proof readily available; so perhaps you could make a separate page that lists all the ships that are currently "not official", just in case someone surfaces who likes such-and-such ship, it can be found easily and shifted back onto the "official list"? this is just a suggestion so i'm not too bothered either way you decide to do it, just thought i would throw some 2cents in!

That’s perfectly fine, we’ll look into that. There’s a couple of places online with the whole long list as it is, and it’d be useful as reference anyhow.
