This one time an anti joined our sleepy but still active server for a specific ship, quietly removed "proshippers dni" from their bio after looking our intros (we're mostly over 30 and openly SALS), demanded to be made a mod, completely refurbished the entire layout of the server (and did a great job!), ghosted the fandom for several months, added "proshippers dni" back into their profile, made a dramatic post on tumblr saying much the same thing, and then quietly left the server before deleting their blog entirely and rebuilding it with the exact same handle.

It's like someone broke into our home, demanded to be hired as housekeeper, cleaned our house, organised our paperwork, went outside, yelled at us to go away, and stomped off never to be seen again. The whole while we're just sitting in front of the sofa watching our stories, absolutely baffled by the whole thing but too polite and/or tired to say anything.

Definitely my peak JATs moment. 10/10 will huh??? again.

I regret to inform the masses that the logic behind the "interracial relationships are problematic" boils down to "because a power dynamic is present, the more privileged person is OBVIOUSLY taking advantage of their partner and/or fetishistizing them", which I will grant does happen on an individual level occasionally irl (snowbunnies and asian fetish types), but like. where do I begin with this?

Let's start with: deciding you can't date someone based on race is racist at the very core

Also, there is nothing wrong with having a preference (liking Asian women, for example) so long as you understand that they are human beings who are just as deserving of respect as you are. Liking trans men doesn't automatically make someone a chaser but if the only reason that they like someone is they are trans and anything else is irrelevant to the attraction so long as the person is trans then yea thats a chaser. Just liking trans people and having that be the initial spark of interest isn't bad so long as you get to know them as a person other than their transness and then deciding from there if you want to be together with them is normal behavior.

Also, having fetishes isn't bad either. You can have a fetish for Hispanic chicks and only watch porn of Hispanic women, but so long as you treat the real life Hispanic women you meet with respect then why would it matter what fetishes you have. Stuff like this is only a problem when you treat people like sex objects and not living breathing human beings.

The thing that matters most is how you treat real people you interact with.

i think the worst thing abt bein a recovering anti and a closeted proshipper is that i have built up a following of mostly antis and i have been a compulsive liar for years due to unsolved trauma, lying about who i am, my age, my life, almost everything. as a minor, i feel so uncomfortable and unsafe because i feel like one day, they'll all turn against me and find out who i really am. ill never be who i want to be because ive trapped myself in a box of lies and people that could hurt me at any time, i am trapped and i'll never know if i can save myself, i am trapped because i have never truly known who i really am.

The best thing you can probably do for yourself is start over. Make new socials completely divorced from your old ones, fresh accounts. Also, lying about your name and age on the internet is a good thing. Those things shouldn't be on the internet anyway. It's bad to put your whole life out there for strangers on the internet to read about!
