Tauba Auerbach collaborates with Cameron Mesirow in an art performance. Ida Falck Øien designed both of their outfits for this performance, titled “Auerglass.”
This instrument can only be played by two people; even if only one person is “playing”, the person on the opposite end must pedal air into the giant billows that allows this conjoined organ to function.
In the beginning, there are some sounds of piano keys being pressed without sound, while they are demonstrating the codependent nature of the instrument. Then begins a slow duet, and the pneumatic instrument sounds almost as though it is breathing.
