When does the first round start?
June 20th!
Half of the polls will be posted one day and the other half another day. I'm deciding if I should make each round 1 or 3 days (probably be 1 day) long.
When round 2 is going to happen is less certain because I'm going to be traveling in early July but we'll see.
I have my own au.how do I join the competition, and when it is?
So submissions are currently closed but when they are open, which I announce sometime between December and March, you can submit your AU then! I usually close submissions in May and start the comp in June.

Ooooo. That is a good question. I think I just like it when the parents are nuanced generally, like as long as its interesting and not one dimensional.
Like I do have my own perception of how I'd write them. I like to think that Draxum saw the turtles initially as weapons but was still affectionate in the sense a soldier cleans and maintains their rifle. I do think his arrogance would definitely lead to some childhood conflict.
For Big Mama, I'm less picky, I just like manipulative Big Mama, that's fun. I think since Big Mama had less screen-time, I just don't have a good grasp on her. Like she seems like she loved Splinter but was that truly her trying to get Splinter back into the ring (wedding or battle (haha I love wordplay)) or not.

curious, how developed does an au have to be to join the competition? if i have somewhat of a plot idea and designs, can i submit it? do i have to have posted about it on tumblr before

The au has to have 3 posts or 3 chapters to officially join! If you don't have that yet, I won't be going through submissions until May so you can submit your au to get that done with and post in the mean time.
You can submit your own au. Anyone can submit any au (tho only sep aus will get in).

Gasp mod leaf you could make a scavenger hunt based on other aus!! Like a little box (form) where non-separated aus drop little au themed items (prompts/ideas/items)

is there going to be a 3rd competition?
I don't know. I'm willing to if there are people wanting to but the TMNT Comps have definitely decreased in traction. I mean to me, the biggest part of the comp is the interaction in community. Separated AUs are more of a niche, rather than a more broad AU Comp so there will be less competitors. There won't be as many people but that may lead to more interaction among people.
Then its also, I'm not really apart of the TMNT fandom anymore and after the last comp my motivation went down the drain. How I set up comps is a lot of work and I don't want to do that if no one joins.
I don't know if this makes sense, but I hope it does.
