I used to. I was born of the faith, I had religion. We believed that when there were problems that you couldn't solve, forces of nature you had to ride out, that they were an Act of God, had it on insurance papers. We thought that we were practically neighbours with God, that he lived right over that hill, right up that mountain, just over the horizon and that if we reached far enough, one day, one day! We could meet him!
We MET our Gods. And look at how they treat us.
I was taught that God was good. And I realise now that my mother, my father, my pastor, all of them were wrong about God. Because they attributed the good in the world to Him, instead of to people.
To everyone listening. I believe in humanity. And I believe that the Gods we've encountered are going to face treatment in kind. My name is Michael Addis. Do you believe?
( Mod Libertas here. While Tarot, Penguin and Mayya take a well earned break this week, I'll be running the show. Feel free to ask questions to your local Resistance cell while the Stage scrambles to get their show back on the air. )
