Ah, yes. I reblogged the info for the first release in January, and the promptly failed the schedule a reminder in March.  I’ll go find the information for the May release and get it up.

FYRayearth Beyond Tumblr

As many of you may well know by now, Tumblr will be doing a massive purge on the 17th. We, as of yet, do not believe this will affect us, but it may affect the Rayearth fandom in general. 

FuckYeahRayearth has been on Tumblr since 2012, but we did not start here.

As you may have noticed the links in the sidebar of our blog, our community still exists outside the tumblr-sphere, and will continue to do so once tumblr is gone. 

We have three main places to connect with other fans:

The Cephiro Forum - cephiro.psynos.net  - This forum has been around since 2006. That's over twelve years of fandom discussion, and it will hopefully still stand for years to come. It is run by your moderators here, and one also maintains the hosting and the upkeep. There will always be a Cephiro Forum, so long as there is a want for it.

Magic Knight Rayearth on Dreamwidth - magicknightrayearth.dreamwidth.org - While still young, this community will also be here to welcome you, should you like to join. While it currently appears to be a simple challenge blog, conversation and other posts are also welcome. Dreamwidth is a blogging site. It's practically a reincarnation of the old fandom hub livejournal, but it is 100% user supported, so it will not be bowing to advertisers. There are other Rayearth communities on Dreamwidth, as well. Why not join them all, and make new friends.

Cephiro Discord Server - https://discord.gg/j9WDzfB - A simple chat server for the discussion of Rayearth. There are channels for general discussion, different types of fanworks, OTPs, and OT3s. As we're an international fandom, someone is almost always about.

FYR should return to more regular posting in the new year with a few changes. We’ll let you know more details on those when we emerge from hibernation.

How is it so late into the year that Royal Ascot Week is nearly upon us! (This mod forgot the Royal Ascot was in June not July, and spent most of May being distracted.) 

As our dear @mokonalord is still without a computer, FYR will be hosting Royal Ascot Week for them. 

It’s a week to celebrate the royalty of Rayearth (and Ascot, of course).

Royal Ascot Week - 19-24 June

Tuesday 19th - Ferio &/or Emeraude

Wednesday 20th - Tarta &/or Tatra

Thursday 21st - Aska

Friday 22nd - Ascot

Saturday 23rd - Royalty AUs

Sunday 24th - Amnesty/Anything Goes

That's a day each for the two sibling sets, and Ascot and Aska. But if you feel we're leaving out your faves, and they deserve a day to feel like royalty, feel free to celebrate them on Saturday! 

And if you miss a day, don't despair. Sunday is Amnesty day. 

While we all love art and fanfiction, remember you can participate in more ways than that. We'd love to see fanfiction recs, headcanons, story prompts, tea blends, fanmixes, fancy cakes, and more. (Don’t forget that fanfiction is not limited to English. We will happily share fic in your native language.)

Make sure to tag your posts with #RAWRayearth or #Magic Knight Rayearth in the first five tags, so we can find it to reblog it.

For those, who don't know, this event gets its name from the Royal Ascot horse race meet held this time of year at the racecourse in Ascot, England.  Which would be why Ascot gets to participate, despite probably not being royalty.

But if you are in need of inspiration, the Royal Ascot event page would be a good place to start.  Think big frilly hats, top hats, and fascinators with dramatic dresses and suits. You can find the actual Royal Ascot dress code style guide here (with pictures for inspiration).

I suppose it has been a while since we have done the reminder for the existence of the Rayearth discussion forum we have, Cephiro. 

As you might notice, it predates the FYR Tumblr by quite a bit, so many topics have evolved over the past 11 1/2 years. It’s a good place to go if you want a good in-depth discussion on some element of the series. Everyone’s opinions may vary but you leave with a new insight on the topic you started with.

There aren’t nearly as many of us around anymore, but we would love to have you join and add to the continued discussion of this series.

As of today, we have added a new section dedicated to headcanon and world-building specific discussion. So if you have something that you have created for you fanfictional universe (like the organization of the government, the calendar system Cephiro uses, or the set up for the castle’s public toilets) we would love to know more about it!

Also, if you are interested in writing something but don’t have any ideas, we have a multitude of plot idea dump posts. Like the old, but still glorious nonsense, thread of Plot Mokonas.  Then there is the more recent Miscellaneous AU Dump.

Let’s also not forget the Rarabai section, which is the members only section for discussion of a NSFW nature, such as Clef is a Sub and other discussion of the characters sex lives.

Did you know that will had a HikaruXLantis week?

This year, both FxF and UxC shipping weeks were privately started by individuals, not by FYR. Last year, HxL week was run by AdiaSkyFire, I believe, but they will not be doing it this year.  

We have a different shipping event planned for the end of the year (26th-6th), and some of our writers are participating in MKR fic Swap currently, so things are a bit busy at the moment. 

Unless someone volunteers to host Hikaru X Lantis week before the end of 2017, It will likely fall on the last week in January of 2018. There is just so much going on right now, that I feel we need to have a small break before we swing headlong into another shipping week.

Hi! I was just wondering if your going to don another Hikaru X Lantis week?

We would love to promote another Hikaru x Lantis week. Though I think for the time being fuckyeahrayearth is not officially hosting shipping weeks, so we don’t have to worry about missing any out. 

Officially, I’m the one hosting Umi x Clef week via my personal blog, @milieva , and Suz is doing Fuu x Ferio week from her fandom blog, @veteranfangirl, this year, and we are using this blog to promote them and encourage the fun.

Last year, @adiaskyfire was the host of Hikaru x Lantis week. Which took place in early December. 

Anyone is welcome to start a shipping week. We will happily promote it and celebrate it. Just try to make sure it isn’t at the same time as another currently promoted week. (I would also suggest avoiding November as probably some of the regular fic writers–me, I mean me… and @dragonofwinternights… and occasionally others–make the terrible decision of participating in NaNoWriMo each year.)

I haven’t seen any posts about a Hikaru x Lantis week from anyone in the Magic Knight Rayearth tag or elsewhere. Please let me know if I’ve missed it. If no one decides to pick up the reins and host one, I’ll probably try to get one off the ground for the same time of year. 

(Hell, if no one does an Umi x Ascot week at any point, I might even try to get one going. But I suggest someone like @mokonalord be the host for something like that as it is still mostly a NOTP for me)

As a warning, @dragonofwinternights and I are currently planning a 12 Days of Crack-ships celebration after Christmas. (26 Dec - 6 Jan).

What are the mods' favorite characters and/or pairings?

Hey, Milieva here.

My favourite character is Umi. (Clef is a VERY close second) My favourite pairing is Umi/Clef.

I’m going to trust to over a decade of friendship to answer for Suz, and say that her favourite character is Fuu, and her favourite pairing is Fuu/Ferio.

What about everyone else?
