What is a chumhandle? And what do the rules mean?

the usernames on the instant messaging programs pesterchum, trollian, and bettybother are called "chumhandles" !
inside of the program it will display the full chumhandle of the pesterer and the pesteree (ex. "turntechGodhead started pestering tentacleTherapist") at the top of the log, but thereafter the display will shorten to two letters. in that case, TG and TT.
other than the EB and UU exceptions, all other established handles have their parts start with the letters GCAT.
this is in reference to dna components ademine thynine smth smth i don't remember this. the U is from rna.
so you can make a table like this;
AA AC AG AT CA CC CG CT GA GC GG GT TA TC TG TT
and that's the "valid" (read: canon-compliant) abbreviations we reblog! so urls with one word or three words or more we don't get. for example my own main url (masterdreamweaver) is not a canon-compliant chumhandle and would not be reblogged by us.
