I need to talk about Big Mom

-She’s the female character we’ve all been asking for. Has no one else noticed that? She’s big, she’s powerful, she doesn’t have a male presence presiding over her. She runs a country, she takes what she wants because she wants it. Yeah, she’s the villain of this arc. And? She’s a bomb ass villain. She’s got her plans on LOCK. 

-She isn’t this hourglass goddess we’ve been conditioned to expect from Oda. Obviously he hasn’t abandoned his common female shape principle (Pudding, Smoothie), but she’s still a step away from that. AND, even better, despite her size she wears low cut dresses and pink and print. And none of that stops her from being a Yonko and obviously no one thinks less of her for it. Or else. That’s! So!! Cool!

-She runs a matriarchy. Her kingdom functions as a Capitalist nation, but she herself is a matriarch, and her words are law. And she obviously has no intention of letting Pudding become a Vinsmoke or be controlled by them, which suggests she likely would hand power to her daughters before her sons. 

-Speaking of her daughters, they all seem to be pretty VERY headstrong. Lola running off to find her own destiny, Chiffon becoming her own person and still being a mother and wife, Smoothie with nearly a 1 Billion Beri bounty, Pudding the manipulative shithead we’re gonna love to hate forever. 

-ALSO have we thought about how many kids she’s had??? Think about how long ago she must have started having kids. Her first kids could have been born on ships, been there for battles, watched her climb to the top, and learning how to be viscous little monsters. Can you imagine being pregnant AND being a pirate? 

I’m totally here for Big Mom right now. Yeah she’s evil, but wow what a character. For real, a strong, huge, vivacious woman with terrifying power and an army at the tip of her manicured finger? Sign me up for more of this please. It’s about time.

A father hc for crocodile, akainu, and doflamingo please?

Crocodile: He’s not a hyper present father. He’s not a fawning-fondling-touchy-feely father either, but that might be because he’s emotionally withdrawn and probably isn’t very fit for fathering. Not good at emotional things or ‘growing up’ things, and tends to throw money and stuff at problems instead of going at them himself. His kid is likely to grow up a lot like him because they both respect him and want him to notice them. Maybe a sad story.

Akainu: An oddly good dad?? But a strict one. ABSOLUTE JUSTICE BORN AND BRED. He’ll either raise a tough and powerful Government kiddo or a rebel pirate that ran away from his overbearing father and there’s no inbetween. Or one of each. He tries to be there, just so his kid doesn’t grow up thinking daddy doesn’t love them. Gonna be a well-traveled kid too, everyday is Take Your Kid To Work day when no one can beat your ass. 

Doflamingo: Oh boy. Trash King Father. He’s gonna be the father that spoils his kids, gives them everything he wished he’d gotten when he was a child. They’d be cruel and encouraged to be, and if they weren’t well, Dadflamingo just can’t be angry at his little hellspawn. Be it one or ten kids, they’d all have Devil Fruits, and you bet your ass Dadflamingo would cut down anyone to get those fruits. Big family too, lots of aunts and uncles and weird relations but when Doflamingo went away they would take care of the kid(s).

I know I posted some stuff earlier, and I’m trying to be more active here again, but my dog died earlier this week and I am not feeling super hot. I’m working on stuff, I promise, it just might be slow.

He’s such a showman, he’ll try to impress you constantly. At your core you’re selfless and intellectual, and at first that’s hard to see under your seemingly cold exterior. But the second you gave ground and asked Franky about his contraptions, it was all over for that hard outside. He’s thick skinned and smart, but has facets of himself that you don’t share, something that keeps you and him in a cycle of learning constantly, and that’s really good in any kind of relationship. Not that Franky would ever be boring. He might be a little dense in understanding your finicky personal nature at first, but what he can’t understand he’s willing to accept. Also, what’s better than a drinking buddy? Even if that buddy is drinking cola...

Honestly, the hardest part about this ask was finding a male that likes kids! It seems like it’s always females who love kids (Oda please explain???)

But I’m going to put you with Smoker. You guys are nearly 50/50 on a lot of things. But a writer looking for nautical inspiration turned romance? That’s a movie everyone’s going to see, you know it is. You oddly get along well with his Marines, maybe because they’re so childlike themselves, and Tashigi I’m sure would love anyone new to be with. With all of his surrounding cohorts so appeased, there’s nothing getting between you and him - except maybe his initial embarrassment over liking an artsy type, but who ever said men can’t enjoy theater?

The Search is on!

So as you can see we’ve been dead for a while again. And that’s not really fair to you guys. I know that I’m very busy - I’m taking 5 classes, working a job and looking for another. I do not have time to do a lot on the blog and might not for a while. I can’t speak for Miny but I think it’s fairly obvious that things are slow.

In light of that news, we’ve decided to look for a new mod. Someone with more time than us. We’re gonna close the boxes for requests and open them for mod submissions. So if you’re interested in being a mod here, send us an ask off-anon and we will send you a short match up (for one of us). We’re gonna cap it around 10 for the sake of simplicity, so be quick!

I don’t want to say I’m leaving the blog - I don’t want to at all! It’s fun and rewarding. I just don’t have the time or energy at this moment and don’t want to abandon everyone for months again.

Miny here with additional info. Like Opossum, I've been majorly busy with my job (first year teaching, man...) I also don't want to be leaving the blog abandoned for extended periods of time anymore, so finding a mod or two to join us seems like the best way to prevent that. Applicants will go through the same vetting process we did, as Opossum said. We'll send you a matchup like one that we have done many times in the past, as well as a scenario request to see what sort of writing style you have. I look forward to seeing who responds!

So I don’t know where any of the mods are or what they’re doing. I’m going to go ahead and announce that I probably won’t be on here a lot, if at all, because we just bought a house that needs a lot of work. I have a job that works me nearly full time, school starts at the end of the month, and I haven’t really even thought about One Piece in three weeks. Every free minute I have is spent on work I need to do to make things go a certain way. So this might be the end of my time on the blog for a while. 

So I guess this means we’re on hiatus until someone else shows up.

Actually I want to put you with Sabo, and that’s pretty rare for me!

It’s sort of a comedic twist that you get cold, because Sabo’s a furnace. I say him though because even though your personalities are quite different in places, the core values present themselves. Understanding a situation is a lot of what Sabo does, so naturally you two work well together. But more than that, your range of capabilities extends beyond Sabo’s - diplomatically speaking. Aside from skills and work and common ground though, you have what sounds like a little wild streak in the right places. Sabo isn’t entirely a wild child, but there’s a penchant for that in him too. I think, very much, that you and Sabo would get along well as both friends and partners.
