I feel somewhat conflicted on this whole steam selling mods.
On one hand, I agree that content creators should be paid for the things they’ve done. We’ve already paid for so many mods before (admit it, Counter Strike, Gmod, Killing Floor and probably Natural selection were mods at first), so what difference does it make?
On the other hand, we’re talking about paying for “Horse armor” again. I bet most of these paid mods are gonna be just weapons and armor, and sometimes some ENB/Weather overhauls.
I’ll give it one week. If it stays, it’s gonna hurt a huge part of the community. People that buy from GOG or other places aren’t gonna be able to enjoy some of the mods as they’ll only be able to buy it from steam workshop. And god, don’t make me talk about the copyright infringement and the amount of people uploading mods that aren’t theirs at the moment.
Let’s also remember a lot of mods are incompatible with each other, and if one of the ones you bought conflicts with another you already had... good luck trying to find a way to fix it, as steam stated that it’s up to you to find out.
It’s already day 1 and it’s going worse than the livestreaming update.
