rui could experience intrusive thoughts or paranoia which explains why she has been so secluded, only trusting X at first, and even why she would create a system (galax) to solve everyone’s problems. It’s almost as if galax acts as a way of checking compulsions by allowing others to help everyone, thus making the world safer (such was the idea at least). at least ive experienced a sense of “if only i could make sure i had a safety net” when having aggressive intrusive thoughts and galax acts as that safety net.
her sheer idealism could be a way of reacting to the constant threat of danger and pain; when experiencing negative thoughts one usually agrees with them or combats them to an extreme extent. Idealism is a way of glossing over that sense of anxiety and trying to rectify it, however it is ultimately maladaptive in its own right because it lacks realism (which is why hajime can help her so much, because she is an optimist but also a realist).
and the fact that she has such difficulty coping with things not going her way really strikes me as an ocd thing because we spend so much time planning for situations and trying to prevent pain only to realize we couldve been wrong. It sends your mental habits into a frenzy as if you’ve lost all the ground you’re standing on; this seems like what happened when she had to witness the devastation at the hands of CROWDS.
