My father was a pagan and I'm not sure what my dad is but I think I might be a Witch 2. I know something about it except that phases of the moon are important and crystals help with healing and stuff I want to cast my own spells but I don't know how.

It really depends on your personal interests and associations! Not every witch or magical practitioner uses moon phases in their craft. But keep in mind not everything you see on the internet is pick and choose either. Lots of people in the community have made beginner posts as well as myself, but as far as my blog goes you may find a place to start here:

So I am just poking my nose in because I like magic and in stories and what not. I'm curious on how you become a witch. Like......qhat do you do and what does being a witch mean.

In the simplest of terms, you become a witch when you call yourself one. To be a witch, you perform witchcraft. Now, there are many different types of witchcraft and different paths to follow, but none are really what you would read about in stories or see in movies for the most part - so it’s hard to really quantify without going super into detail.

Witchcraft in its simplest terms is manipulating energy in order to reach an end or goal. Some understand this as a placebo effect - changing your perspective or subconscious so that you become the person you want to be/accomplish the things you want to without force. Most see this as more supernatural manipulation. It’s not that you can shoot fire from your hands or fly or change the way you look - Witchcraft a lot of the time, is a personal self-help tool.

Another thing you’ll want to keep in mind is that witchcraft has always been a tool for the oppressed. This means that cursing and hexing is real and powerful - but does not mean witchcraft is evil. It is your defense against those that would hurt you, and it is a tool to help shape you into who you want to be.

But at the end of the day witchcraft is neutral and you determine if it used for benefit or harm.
