Staying Positive
“I am bent but not broken. I am scarred but not disfigured. I am sad but not hopeless. I am tired but not lifeless. I am afraid but not powerless. I am angry but not bitter. I am depressed but not giving up.”
1. Look at each day as a new beginning Each day marks a new beginning. Each time you wake up, remind yourself that you’re still alive, and you’re alive for a beautiful purpose. Live in the moment and enjoy your day to the utmost extent. 2. Remind yourself it could be worse Though it may be hard to imagine something worse than what you’re going through, there’s always someone out there who has it worse than you. Attempt to be grateful because you are not the ‘worst than’. 3. Count your blessings Face adversity by pondering upon your blessings in life and staying strong in your faith. Look at your blessings; this may help during a long day. You might not realize it, but as many have said, cancer also brings blessings into your life. Focus on those blessings instead of constantly throwing yourself a pity party. 4. Look for the silver linings and rays of hope Through all adverse situations, focus on looking for bright spots in the dark circumstances. Appreciate life’s little pleasures; this may help you stay positive even through the hardest situations. When life gets tough, get tough by looking for silver linings and rays of hope in whatever circumstances you are in. 5. Ride the storm with loved ones Fighting cancer alone is downright impossible. When you feel as if you want to give up, reach out to a person you love and trust. They will help you ride the storm. 6. Be thankful for what you have This tip may be extremely arduous to follow, but it’s vital to be thankful. Gratitude is one of the starting points of happiness and positivity. Breathe and know that you’re still alive when 150,000 people pass away daily. Enjoy each moment to the fullest. 7. Choose to be happy Sometimes it may seem as if happiness is not a choice, but it is. Choose to surround yourself with positivity and focus on looking at life from a positive standpoint. A positive outlook on life changes everything and will help you remain more positive. Being depressed does not aid you in fighting cancer; it only makes things worse. The decision is in your hands. Choose happy. 8. Believe that God will protect you, believe that you can beat cancer. Believe that your Father above will protect and help you through the storm. He will always be there for you when nobody is. Believe that you can beat cancer and you will. After all, believing is half the battle, right? Keep your faith strong and rise above it all!
Remember, the energy you put into the universe is what will be given back to you. Therefore, remember to radiate and emit positive vibes. Stay safe and God bless!
