Figrin D’an. This is certainly one of the most memorable aliens from the cantina for me and—next to Tarkin, Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru and Garindan/Long Snoot—was on the top of my wishlist for Kenner to create a figure for. In fact when Kenner released 4-LOM (or Zuckuss as youngsters call him these days) I thought that it would be one of the cantina musicians (and not a bounty hunter!). This is No TVC249 and considering that earlier toy lines usually ended toughly around the 120 mark, we are now probably stuck with TVC for the rest of our collector’s lives (no complaints here!). The figure is labeled Figrin D‘an but despite its verbatim could stand for any of the members of the Modal Nodes, especially since the figure comes with three different instruments, which are played by five of the members (if I looked right). We now only need a shrunken Nalan Cheel from the Black Series for his percussion instruments and drum stool and from there can army-build our way up to the full band. But since you never see the drummer in band photos anyway, you might as well just skip them and stick with 3-5 Figrin D‘ans if you want to fill your cantina stage booth. The figure comes with great details despite the fact that the character doesn’t have that many distinctive features and particularly the instruments look very nice.
