I have been busy lately making a lot of videos and getting them put out on YouTube and I've sort of neglected to write on my blog.  To the few that follow my blog, thank you, and hopefully more people will also.

I just wanted to post to my Tumblr blog and share a story with everybody about one of my latest shooting and YouTube video experiences.  I had a friend of mine that I went to school with, come out to the Guns Gear & Freedom private shooting range and he brought a few of his own guns and ammunition for me to try out.  One of which was the Howa Axiom Model 1500 rifle chambered in .223 Remington. 

The Howa Axiom Model 1500 is a bolt action rifle that is incredibly ergonomic and stylish.  It is like gripping an AR-15, but set up as a long distance shooting rifle.  The gun was fairly accurate taking into account we were shooting farther then the standard 100 yards and it was really windy outside.

Nonetheless, we still managed to use the rifle and 3.5 lbs of generic Tannerite shooting at a distance of about 150 yards to blow up an old clothes washing machine.  In fact I used Star Targets Exploding Rifle Targets which is simply ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder mixed together to set off this excellent afternoon delight.

The clean up process took about 30 minutes afterwards as we had to scurry around picking up pieces that were found 100+ yards away from the blast epicenter.  The blast was intense and it did rattle the windows of my sister's home.  She told me that she was on the telephone when it went off, and it rattled her windows.  Not to mention the fact that you could feel the blast percussion in your chest slightly.  It as awesome.  So much so, that we decided to blow up an old BBQ shortly thereafter.  I will post post a blog entry about that another time.
