I finally got Model Debut 3 #nicola on Nintendo Switch. I find it wild that no one seems to be talking about this game. It's similar to New Style Boutique / Style Savvy.
In Model Debut you work as a model for fashion magazine Nicola. Not only do you put together outfits, hair and makeup but you also edit the article layouts you do the photoshoots for.
There's management sim and life sim aspects as you raise your stats and friendship with characters on your free time. Stats will help you in specific kind of jobs. I understood you get TV appearance jobs and such later. Your ultimate goal is to become #1 model during three in-game years.
In magazine jobs you are given an article topic and certain requirements you need to fulfil when coordinating an outfit. The better you can match the outfit to the theme, the more your follower count and royalties will increase.
Once you're happy with the outfit and finish the photoshoot, you proceed to layout editing. You get to choose a pose, expression, backdrop, frame and stamps. There's a humongous amount of poses and layout elements, btw. You can rotate, scale and position the article title, stamps and model as you wish. There's even the possibility to adjust neck angle and where the model's gaze is directed at! The creative possibilities are endless.
Here's the first three magazine layouts I did so far.
Picnic Top Picks: Create an outfit using a Graphic Top and two or more Casual items.
Cute 'n Girly FTW!: Create an outfit with Floral skirt and two or more Feminine items.
Striped Spring: Create a Tomboyish outfit using a Horizontally striped top.
I noticed that while I was not playing Model Debut I kept thinking about it and wanting to quickly go back and play it more. I was having so much fun that I stayed up until 2:30 AM last night.
Model Debut 3 #nicola is apparently coming to Steam at some point as well. I might actually double dip on the PC release. I think mouse + keyboard would work really nicely for the mag layout editing.
