When former model Jo Wood was looking for a house, she wanted it to look like she’d been there a long time, not like it was newly decorated.
Her vision for the interior was, “I wanted plaster walls, bare floor boards, lace at the windows and lots of black,” she says.
Jo’s passion for vintage is well known and she was heavily influenced by vintage styles when decorating, using lots of black and plenty of pattern.
She often buys vintage furniture and accessories in the Paris flea markets and the result is what Jo calls “a cross between rock and roll and Marie Antoinette.”
Look at the retro wallpaper in the kitchen. Love the old brick fireplace wall, too. Beautiful rusty blue chairs and a large old table. The industrial shelves fit nicely on the sides of the fireplace.
That icebox is amazing and the antique metal chairs and table are gorgeous.
She finished the house in only a few mos.
People loved the decor so much, she’s been asked to decorate several houses and even a nightclub.
This is beautiful- pink subway tiles and a clawfoot tub.
It is a glamorous and bohemian home, dotted with photographs of Jo and her family and bursting with color, pattern and vintage eclecticism.
Jo says, “I didn’t find anything a struggle doing up the house because I loved doing it so much, it was all I ever thought about and now I just love being here.”
She has since designed a range of accessories, drawing on the experience of decorating her own home.
“I’m mad about interiors,” she laughs.
This vintage bath is certainly glamorous.
