Here are some photos from my first solo fashion show held at a local gallery. All of my friends were amazing because they either we in the show, stayed up with me while I sewed everything, or turned up to see the show. It was a lot of work, but ended up being really worth all of the effort.
I think this may have been one of the first times Amy modeled. It was definitely the first time she modeled for me. When I finished the dress I couldn't imagine anyone else in it b/c she loved blue roses so much. She was so excited to wear it and I was so flattered. I wish I had done her hair a little better, but she told me the bun was so well done, it lasted for 3 days, before she decided she had to wash her hair. I also love that she always painted her nails to match her coords (I didn't notice this until way later on in our friendship) and that she obviously had painted them to match the dress I had made, and that someone took the time to notice (thank you to my photographer friend Mary).
You may notice in almost all of the photos of us together she is wearing blue and I was wearing red. There are of course a few exceptions in which we are both wearing warm colors, but generally it always seemed to be Amy Blue, Halley Red. I don't know why it always worked out like that, but she will forever be my team blue to my team red. She was buried in a blue dress, and I made sure to wear a burgundy one to the viewing... last time I was going to see her in lolita, and it just seemed right.
