Today's story is about Christmas 2 years ago. I was in the middle of a really shitty break up that more or less started in September. I decided at the beginning of that November to move to San Francisco. It was a sudden decision and my friends, while supportive, were so upset to hear that I was leaving. This is Betty and Amy. I also invited Bunny, but she couldn't make it that day. Betty and Amy had been so supportive durring this crappy time... I pretty much cried a little every day for a month, and I kept accidentally running into my ex b/c we pretty much hung out at all the same places, hell we even worked for the same company. They would take turns taking me out to bubble tea or to dinner with them, but I was still heartbroken. So they understood when I said I needed to get as far away from that drama as possible.
One of the things I always wanted to do with these girls was to have a tea party with my fine Wedgewood china, and before I left I made sure to do that. I never really thought about how perfect it was that my china is the wild strawberry print. Amy loved strawberry prints almost as much as she loved book prints. Strawberries were never my thing, and I've never really known why I picked that print when I started collecting my china in middle school, but I'm glad I did as it will forever remind me of her.
I also demanded we all go together to get a really stupid Santa picture taken with the local mall Santa. While I'm pretty sure they weren't stoked by the idea, they begrudgingly agreed to come along since I was leaving soon. I told them to wear red/burgundy x white/cream, and Betty borrowed one of Amy's dresses since her wardrobe is mostly black or blue. I remember getting the feeling that mall Santa felt like this was his lucky day getting to get crammed into his couch with 3 pretty ladies hahah.
We also took some derpy pics in the Macy's dressing room.... Amy was amazing at derping. We also took pics posing like "model-san" from IW. Amy loved to make fun of her poses and shooped on hair ribbons. As you can see in the 'model san' pics Amy picked up a lace bolero that day. I had purchased the exact same one a few days earlier and goded her into getting it as well.... I admit to doing this often heheheh. I wear it often to this day, I wonder if she still had hers. So glad we always took the time to make these silly memories. No regrets.
