The bar was scheduled to open in another hour. The Nevsky Prospekt’s only occupants being its two owners, the bartender, and the chef, two of whom preparing for the evening rush.

“I think, we should host a trivia night.” Dmitry said while breaking off a piece of the soft pretzel he was sharing with his husband. “I know that was something we talked about when we first opened TNP, but we haven’t actually done it yet. I want to. What do you think?”

They were studying for finals. The only sound that could be heard in the quiet of the campus library was the occasional page turn, and the rustle of candies as Dmitry rooted around to grab some from the bag of Reeses Pieces that he had sitting next to him. The tension was thick, and Dmitry just needed to break it.

“I’ll bet you five bucks that I can toss five Reese’s pieces in a row into my mouth.” Dmitry said, smirking over at his study partner.

“ will you stop playing with the bed settings? ” modern, husband Gleb

Dmitry set the remote on the table next to Gleb’s hospital bed. It was officially week two of Gleb’s hospital stay in Russia after being shot, and the days were starting to blend together. They were starting to get bored, having basically run out of things to talk about (at least in regards to Gleb’s recovery). 

His fiance was taking a nap when Dmitry discovered the remote to Gleb’s bed and started playing with the buttons on the remote. “Sorry. Sorry.” Dmitry said. “I’m just a little bored...”
