#surely there are low points in her relationship with wulf#and bard is there to support her#and tell her to leave him#c:#main
Low points in their relationship are actually things I’ve thought about but haven’t yet written. But let me consider this you asking about low points in their relationship so I can tell you.
I think that their work schedules would have caused something of a strain at the beginning of their relationship -- not at the very beginning, but once they were pretty serious and had moved in together and sort of gotten over the honeymoon phase of their relationship before they were engaged or anything. Because Sigrid’s shifts at the hospital are long and more irregular than a normal 9-5 job, and Wulf has to go out of town so often to work cases that it probably would have put stress on both of them before they’d had enough time being together to learn how to make their relationship work well around each other’s schedules. Especially since I could see them being in the middle of fights or something, when Wulf gets called into work and he has to go and leave their fight unresolved, and even though Sigrid knows she can’t really hold it against him, she...still kind of does a little.
I could definitely see her calling Bard while she’s just wondering if it’s better to throw in the towel and let both of them go find someone else who could be there more of the time.
The other major low point in their relationship would be while they were struggling to have children. Fertility struggles are statistically always hard on couples, and it definitely would have been for Sigrid and Wulf, too. They both knew that the other one really wanted children, and I think both of them would have at some point suggested that they get divorced so the other one would have a chance to go find someone else. Sigrid especially would have pulled that on Wulf whenever arguments turned towards their difficulties having children, since she definitely felt like it was more her fault than his fault.
I wouldn’t put it past Sigrid to temporarily move back in with Bard whenever she just couldn’t handle being around Wulf; even though she never actually stopped loving him and wanting to be with him, she also just would have needed some space, because it got really hard for her to be around him when she was feeling like she was constantly letting him down.
(Can you just imagine Wulf calling Bard or coming to Bard’s place being all ‘I know she’s here just please let me talk to her...’ and Sigrid in the background being like ‘tell him I’m not here....but does he sound/look okay? has he been eating is he really sad is he okay this is need to know information)
