The v3 cast comforting their s/o after they have to solve a math problem in front of the whole class and their s/o starts crying instead because their s/o is really bad at it and thinks of themself as stupid.
Hi, Anonymous! I hope you are well and taking some time to take care of yourself and appreciate yourself. Unfortunately, I do not write for whole casts, as stated in my guidelines! When this happens, I just randomly choose characters from the cast to write about. If I didn’t pick characters you wanted, just send in this request again but with your specified characters. Also, if anyone has had a personal experience similar to this request, please do not be hard on yourself! Your self-worth is not defined by your ability to excel academically. You are so much more than that. Everyone works at different paces, and practice makes progress! It is okay if you need a little help; everyone does every now and then. Thank you so much for stopping by and sending in an ask! Have a wonderful day, and don’t forget to love yourself! You can do it!
Rantaro Amami
- “S/O…please do not allow your ability to do math problems define your self-worth. Practice makes progress, and it’s okay if you need a little help. Everyone does now and then. Would you like to study with me after class?”
- Despite not having attempted the problem, you take a seat, tears trailing down your face as you look down at your desk. Before the teacher could even say a word, Rantaro gets up from his desk and walks over to yours. He extends his hand to you, his eyes smiling at you warmly and understandingly. You take his hand and he pulls you from your desk to stand.
- “Let’s solve this problem together, step by step.”
- You two approach the chalk board and begin attempting the problem. He notices your hesitation, but trusts your ability to solve the equation. You look to him for guidance, and he nods patiently.
- “I know you can solve this problem. I’ll admit, it is a bit difficult, so if you don’t know what to do next, I’m here to help. But otherwise, keep going and going.”
- You take in a deep breath, and begin the problem. There were numerous occasions where you doubted yourself, but proceeded to write down the step anyway. Rantaro only stopped you to ask you a question if you had made a mistake, which was not too often, making all the times he didn’t give you confidence.
- Before you knew it, you solved the equation! It actually took no time at all, and you were surprised at how well you approached the problem.- “See? I had faith that you could do it. And you did.”
Kaede Akamatsu
- “S/O! Take a deep breath in, and out again. You can do this! You can solve this problem!”
- Under Kaede’s guidance and leadership, your fellow peers join her encouragement. She rises from her seat and approaches you in front of the chalk board. First pulling you into a reassuring embrace and then resting her hands on your shoulders, she looks you confidently in the eyes, offering words of comfort and support.
- “S/O…I know you can solve this problem. You have the whole class and I believing in you. If you need help, we will help you. No one will think poorly of you because you need help on a math equation. We are supposed to help each other, and that’s completely okay.”
- You nod firmly, tears just barely drying on your cheeks. She wipes whatever tears there may be left, and takes her seat. You turn back around to face the board, and begin to tackle the problem. The first time you completed a step correctly, Kaede cheered for you. The following times, other students cheered for you. When you would make a mistake, or showed hesitation, students who knew the answer would kindly offer some advice, or shout words of encouragement.
- “That’s right! Keep going, S/O!”
- After what seemed like only a few minutes, you arrived at the correct solution to the problem that gave you trouble not too long ago. The class cheers, and Kaede congratulates you with a hug. You both sit down together, with Kaede beaming proudly.
- “I knew you could do it, S/O. We all did. We all were supporting you the whole way, until the very end.”
