Inphernals are naturally resistant to any collateral damage that might happen from their gear.

For example, Boombox has a much higher tolerance for loud noises. Rocket and Zuka both are slightly blast-resistant and don't have to worry about smoke inhalation.

Unfortunately this is a resistance, not an immunity. Because if it was Subspace wouldn't be well... Like That.

However, the SFOTH are all immune to their respective elements. Firebrand can't get burnt (or taste spiciness lol), Icedagger can't get frostbite or hypothermia, and Venomshank could literally drink cyanide and be 100% fine.

I subconsciously have this headcanon myself! This is precisely what makes me think Subspace is actually intergear and was forced to have an operation done to him and his gear due to it being perceived as irregular and unstable, which gives him the false ideal that he's supposed to be grateful for having an integral part of him altered because he wouldn't have been as great without operations he doesn't even remember! :) It's so interesting, isn't it?

Medkit, as pathetic as he seems, is actually scarily competent.

The church wouldn't have to keep such a close eye on him if he wasn't as cunning and smart as he is, they'd be fine with the apartment in crossroads and relationships with outsiders.

He never actually got permission for that apartment, the church thought he was still in a boarding house when they sent scythe to check up on him because he'd gone quiet. The call he got was the Church notifying him of a checkup. Him leaving was to try and go to the boarding house and act like he's been living there. If Scythe hadn't gotten there early because she knew something was up, the Church would be none the wiser to his life.

He's also not supposed to befriend anyone outside of the Church. Medkit decided to hide all his photos of him and Sword within a bookshelf in his apartment, in the wood itself, just in case. He also befriended Sword knowing two things: Sword is stupidly loyal to friends, and Sword's father is Venomshank. Sword is Medkit's safety net, if Medkit ever went missing because of the Church for any reason, he knew Sword would worry and cause a ruckus and Medkit knew if Sword got himself in danger because of the ruckus then he had his father (and all the other SFOTH) to protect him and bring even more scrutiny to the church.

Technically, all money earned by church members goes to the church. Saving any money is seen as a sin. And yet, he has a pretty good chunk of change saved up. He keeps it as gold teeth and pure gold piercings so that no higher up would know. He has an emergency fund of about 100,000 rolled up and hidden in a compartment of his gun just in case he gets suddenly stranded and needs to remake his life. The church knows nothing. They will never know.

The church will never know most of Medkit's life, and this was intended. Medkit made sure they wouldn't know. And he kept backup plans for if things went wrong. He's a threat to the Church that the Church thinks they have control of when they don't.

Love this interpretation of Medkit. Yes, make him scarily competent! I'd honestly very much enjoy a TCoTTE vs Medkit dynamic that's closer to what TKiY vs D3rLord3 from "Searching For A World That Doesn't Exist" have, feels so so interesting... Yoinking this headcanon, it's a wonderful read. ^_^

More god!sword :D

everyone is kinda weirded out by sword because the name sword is equivalent to the name John Humanman.

His full name isn't Linked Sword, it's just Sword. He does not know about the burning of Lost Temple, despite being from there, and alive when it happened.

Sword knows he is not normal. His wings are small, but he feels like they should be bigger. Large enough to fly with. He sometimes dreams of a temple, branded with a symbol that matches none of the SFOTH.

That same symbol is branded into his back. Not a birthmark, not a tattoo. A brand. He does not remember getting it. It's very old, but has not warped with age.

Rocket sees this strange being that his friend, and does not care. He cares for Sword, regardless of every single sign that he is a reincarnated dead god.

A long time ago, the SFOTH killed a false god, the Linked Sword, and His final words were that He would rise again, anew, and take back His throne.

Venomshank sees all the signs in his fledgling, and does not care. That is his mentee, his son.

Ohhh my gosh, I cannot emphasize how much I love this! God Sword... Ohhh... I remember you mentioning this AU on another ask– you said you'd consider writing something for it, no? No pressure at all, but I'd love to read what you have in mind in story format! This idea is lovely!

Boombox has faint memories of listening to daft punk songs yet when he tries to look them up, there is nothing, and whoever he tells it to thinks he's crazy.

The way this was worded makes me believe he's humankin. Like, the same way some folks can be (insert species here)kin. Boombox suffering from kin memories is real and true in my heart.

now here’s my ass giggling about who I think would wear thigh high socks. Definitely because I love thigh highs

sword - yes, in colder temperatures yes. He prefers fuzzy thigh highs

skateboard - yes, but he says it’s only because he needs to wear them for his knee pads. He does not need them for his knee pads.

Biograft - robot

katana - yes, yes he does

ban hammer - no, he says they’re too feminine while he wears knee high stilettos

rocket - yep! And technically because of his prosthetic, there’s this like rubber sock thingy he has to wear to keep his skin safe. But yes his other leg does have a thigh high sock.

slingshot - yes, cat themed ones.

Hyperlaser - it’s a part of his uniform, for some weird reason. Yes. Probably to keep his legs warm.

shuriken - have you seen this Twinkie? Of course yes. He even wears skirts and dresses. Puffy dresses.

scythe - yes, she likes to hide that under her uniform as a joke. The ones she wears the most are rainbow.

Medkit - surprisingly yes. It was a part of the uniform back in Blackrock, but he does still wear them from time to time when it’s cold out.

Boombox - yep! He likes the texture of them

Subspace - yes. He is the one that added thigh high socks to the Blackrock uniform.

Vine staff - yep! How else is she going to keep her legs warm?

coil - you guessed it. Yep! He thinks it’s manly.

Medkit in thigh highs? Is this a dream? I'm joking, clarifying this now before Medkit himself scrolls down on his next front and sees this.

After Medkit’s escape from the faction, Blackrock brands its most valuable employees in order to make them reliant on Blackrock for work and living since no other company would typically be willing to hire Blackrockians, even if they’re ex employees for the fear of them being spies. Subspace is one of the few workers who has actually volunteered for the branding and includes the branding’s logo on the newer Biografts.
