While I think the cops are in the wrong here, for the most part, I kind of agree with you, Prom; speaking of the American Revolution, let's not forget that the infamous Boston "Massacre" ultimately happened (in the middle of the night) because angry colonists were taunting the British soldiers, calling them ugly names, and throwing snowballs packed with rocks at them. I don't want to compare the situations too directly--the people of Ferguson have a right to be angry. But don't make it worse.

I understand the reactions of both sides but I also think both sides are reacting poorly. Protesters defy the police or throw things (in one video I heard a bottle be thrown at the police and that’s when they began pushing back the crowd and even told them they were being pushed back for the objects being thrown at them) but the police are also being very excessive in their crowd control methods. Also the way they are hiding information is completely obscure. The looters and rioters are also not making it any easier for this situation to be resolved. They are the ones who get violent during a peaceful protest and cause entire crowds to get tear gassed.

It is such a mess.

What do you think of the Ferguson issue? It seems like a lot of people on tumblr are taking this as a reason to hate white people in general instead of the police officers involved. Is this justified because of what's happening in Ferguson?

I think everything is very skewed right now. It needs to die down before we get solid facts.

However with the information provided over the last couple days I've formed a view.

I think the initial killing of Michael Brown was one done a corrupt cop and most likely a racist one. I think the police force was trying to deal with this killing and the man involved but the hysteria, riots, and looting started so quickly they had to put the investigation on the back burner in order to restore peace. As I said in my previous post with the three groups I mentioned cops can't really afford to pull any punches, they are trying to keep order. It's like in Iraq, our soldiers didn't know who just normal good civilians were and who insurgents were. Same here, you don't know who is a peaceful protester and who is a rioter with a molotov ready for you. So as a result you have to use crowd control methods on everyone because rioters and looters are not just going to announce who they are. I think the situation is being handled horribly and the government needs to step in and take control. Someone needs to put a leash back onto the Ferguson police and handle the public.

It's a very complicated and messy issue. So much miscommunication, hysteria, false information, and violence is spreading. It needs to be stopped.

You know I think the primary problem with Ferguson is the public hysteria. The police are trying to regain control of an area with three groups in it. Rioters, looters, and peaceful protesters. Now the problem is police can't differentiate who is who. No one just has a sign over their head labeling what they are and even if someone appears peaceful that could easily change. Hence why police are using high prejudice when dealing with crowds. They are seeking containment and crowd control. You can't tell who is good or bad in the crowd so you need to push the entire crowd back or contain them.

So basically the rioters and looters have screwed the protesters because the police can't see who is who and that certainly makes them look like monsters when they push back a crowd but they can't just go up to each person and search them one by one. This whole situation is being handled badly and is just getting worse and worse. 

What a mess.

Well my point being I know that trans people have been killed before for just being trans, no doubt, but tumblr makes it out to be something that happens very frequently.

I was asking if that is true.

Yo Prometheus: Nah, Trans people are definitely getting killed for being trans. I just don't think this outcome is as common as Tumblr likes to say it is.

Well can you show me some articles of this? News reports? Anything considering you are telling me it's so common?

I mean it's one thing to say it, I've seen people say it already. I want to see proof of it you know?
