Module Spacing Over Decoration
In modular pages, the gaps between boxes do more structural work than the cute marks around them.
If the gutters are uneven, the page starts to feel uncertain. Extra labels, stars, tabs, or small decorations can make it busier, but they cannot fix the module system underneath.
Let the gaps repeat
Use one spacing rule between boxes and repeat it across the page.
That repeated gutter becomes a quiet form of decoration. It gives the spread rhythm before you add anything ornamental.
Keep the ornament secondary
A few dots, leaves, or tiny corner marks can still be useful, but they should follow the spacing instead of distracting from it.
When the boxes breathe evenly, the page feels calmer with fewer marks.
Check the structure first
Before adding labels or accents, look only at the blank boxes.
Do the gaps repeat? Do the margins feel intentional? Can your eye move through the modules without guessing where one section ends and the next begins?
If the answer is yes, the decoration can stay small.
