My flexible dieting guru @lil_riki_ prompted me to post about my #lilrikimotivator. Duuudddee, I've spent a few days contemplating this because there are SO MANY people that inspire me to continue crossfit, but I wouldn't have even found cf if it weren't for my former kickboxing/boot camp instructor @moethegiant. I've never been an athletic person, but I joined @knuckleup after one of my sorority sisters took me to a class. Before that I pretty much just did the elliptical at big box gyms. I'd get so bored, then stop going for awhile. I saw fitness as something I "had" to do. Kickboxing was the first time I went to the gym because it was "fun". I loved it enough that I hated missing the gym! Because I loved Moe's class so much, I signed up for her Boot Camp on a whim. I did all her boot camp cycles from Jan 2013 to June 2014. As a level 1 cf instructor, boot camp was basically crossfit. 🙌🏼🏋🏻 I never lifted heavy weights before. It was THE BEST choice I ever made. And for several reasons. Training with Moe helped me find not only physical strength, but mental and emotional strength as well. I'm kinda a Type A personality & want to do everything at the same time. Just like I can only approach each rep one at a time, I can only approach anything life "throws" me one thing at a time. This training has transcended into my personal & professional life. Today, as I struggled to row & wanted to quit, I remember what Moe always told me: "Don't say 'I can't'." A good teacher always stays with you. (I'd know!) Thanks always, Moe, for helping me find fitness I love. It's made me grow physically and mentally, as well as bring awesome folks into my life.
