A Muslim Who Built a Temple in Unnao — A Story India Must Hear
In Sheikhpur, Unnao, where Hindus and Muslims live side by side, Mohammad Arif—a Sunni Muslim and construction worker—did something extraordinary. To resolve a dispute over a neglected platform holding a Sheetla Devi idol, Arif offered to build a temple at his own expense. The temple was constructed, and his name appears on the plaque as one of its builders.
Arif also helped renovate a nearby mosque with community support, contributed materials to another temple, and built a marriage lawn open free of cost to families of all religions and castes.
