Here are the brand-new ref sheets of these two guys - the protagonists of Moinyts! I'm really happy with these designs for them, not gonna lie, as I have been thinking of kind of redesigning them for a long time. Below the cut is a description for them both :3
Pyotr is a Soviet mechanical engineering student studying in West Germany roughly in the late 70s and early 80s. He's had a lifelong interest in how cars work (and specifically their engines), as well as a secondary special interest in the 1967 Soviet movie The Elusive Avengers. He also quite likes discussing about politics, being a communist himself. Pyotr is autistic, but he isn't diagnosed in any capacity, which does lead to some stress in his life.
His expression often fluctuates beyond looking angry and bored, as he's not much of a smiler - when he does, it's almost always forced. Pyotr tends to intimidate, but in truth he's just extremely awkward and bad with human interaction, which leads him to stare at people a lot. But once you are willing to engage with his interests, he proves himself to be a very caring person, as well as having a particular knack for deadpan comedy.
Pyotr always dresses in that sweaters (although he never wears anything with a high neck), formal pants, and shoes combo. Maybe throws in a jacket occasionally. What can I say? He just likes this one specific type of outfit. That and he always prioritizes comfort.

Dieter is a West German journalism student in West Germany roughly in the late 70s and early 80s. He has had a lifelong love of journalism, wanting to uncover big stories and cases of corruption (and maybe a wee bit of the recognition that comes with it too). Dieter always loved telling stories, often trying to entertain her twin sister, Annika, and parents with them. Together, they made a few comics in their youth, although they're way too embarrassed to show them off now. He is an anarchist who quite enjoys political discussions from time to time. Dieter has a real go-getting attitude and is often pretty happy for one reason or another. They are really friendly, a real extrovert. She also just happens to be a frequent partygoer (which isn't always necessarily a good thing, but she won't admit there's any problem). Dieter always tries to make sure people around him are doing well, but they often get too caught up with their own feelings and experiences too. Dieter has a general sense of fashion that a punk anarchist would have in that era, but their clothes in that type can fluctuate between feminine and masculine, as they see themselves as encompassing the entire spectrum in a way. Yes, his hair is always that messy. The only constant is the antenna.
