Braid Out x Hair Gel Experiment
Last month as I may or may not have mentioned I went to the Mirror Salon…personal horrible experience…but anyway that was my first time seeing my hair in a twist out form…didn't like it. After that I tried to achieve some kind if stretch to my hair by braiding it every other night because those seemed to stay better no matter what size I made them. Sometimes it would be a hit or miss but usually a major hit & everyone loved it. Then I started wrapping rubber bands (goody hair ties) and my curls would just be poppin. But I did notice that as the day would go on & after unwelcoming people touched my hair my curl definition would turn back to afro mode with a whole lotta separated curls making me look crazy. So I decided to try gel but the road to the perfect gel was long. I tried making flaxseed gel…messed that up; and was worried about it drying my hair out. I first purchased As I Am naturally curly jelly…didn't like it…it was expensive as hell and when I put it on my hair when wet my hair would be stiff -____- I did however love all the ingredients in it and came to find out that because I have low porosity hair all those ingredients were way too heavy for my hair cuticles. So I just took a break for a while and decided to investigate Eco styler gel because I noticed a lot of people using it but never wanted to follow the crowd…I gave in When I finally got around to purchasing it I was fully prepared to spend like $8-$12 because I saw how big the 32oz jar was and I thought to myself "damn what if I spend this money and don't like…who can I give it to?" Going into Sally's and came out only spending $4 yes $4!!!!!!! I bought the Eco styler with the argan oil because I've noticed recently that argan oil keeps my hair super moisturized throughout the day…when I say throughout the day I really mean like until 8pm. I only use it about ever other night or 2 because my hair stays really well with it. Because it really and usually comes in super hold I was expecting crunchiness but its super soft. I've been using it different ways the past couple of nights and as I write this I wish i took a picture of how poppin my hair was. But Eco styler has changed my entire perspective on hair gels and the types. They have an entire line if gels that cater to different hair needs even if you use relaxer and want a lasting defined curl.
