Hair Pro Tip #10
Bobby pin your graduation caps to your hair with at least one pin on each side. Of course, use as many as necessary especially if you're in a humid climate where shrinkage might shift the hat over time.
For best results, have your hair in a down style so the cap can sit on top and the pins won't hurt as much ☺️
First braid out on my locs 🤎
Washed my hair earlier this week and let them set/dry in a bunch of smaller braids. Will definitely do this again with more evenly braided sections so the waves are more consistent, and maybe tie off the ends with bands so the waves curve through the whole loc. It’s my second set since I cut off the first ones nearly a decade ago. The first time I feel like I didn’t really utilize my locs as anything other than a convenient way to keep my hair out of way so I didn’t have to think about it. Plus I was in a very different place regarding what personal style looks like to me now, so this time around I’m feeling really good about doing new and creative things with my hair. I’m starting with basics like different buns, ponytails, head wraps, and braid outs like this, and I hope to learn more involved styles like the loc flowers for special occasions when I want to feel more dressed up.
