She ran.
Beneath the hot desert afternoon sun, the blonde woman sprinted northeast, towards the closest town and its giant decaying figure of the dinosaur sentinel. She slowed in her sprint only to climb up the steep earth incline separating the crumbling highway from the well-secured town. Once over the hill, she didn’t bother to catch her breath, inhaling only to shout.
“I need some help!”
She ran towards the fenced motel courtyard, where she spotted the figure with the sniper-rifle ready on her back. At the gate however she grabbed one of the posts, steadying itself to keep from falling over from the sudden stop. Now finally stationary, she began gasping for breath. Still between breaths, she still tried to shout.
“You!” she pointed at the figure. “I need your help! Please!”
