Fitbit is back and so was quantified kathryn
So after losing fitbit - I wrote to them and tried to convey my sadness at this sorry state of affairs. They were sympathetic and professional and amazingly they sent me a new one and I was pleased. Then I got to go on holiday to Estonia and this offered the opportunity for lots of exploring (while increasing my step count), particularly as our room was up a significant amount of stairs and there was no lift and a crazy italian man that I was keen to avoid after awkwardly witnessing him butt naked in the sauna. Anyway, during my days away I easily met my step goal which was great as it helped me feel less bad about sampling the local cuisine (in particular they did some great macaroons and hand on heart, I had the *best* sandwich in my entire life - we're talking a rye pocket with barley-sauerkraut - garlic - mayo - chilli sauce - wild boar sausages).
Then when I returned I got into a bit of a funk about things. Christmas had hit and I wasn't prepared for it. I was due to make an appearance on Radio 4 and was anxious about it and the reaction to it. I was worried about my grandma and I was frustrated because I want to make plans to get married but it's not financially responsible to do so when the contract I'm on is due to expire in 2016. Anyway, all of this led to some less than optimal eating and eventually my exercise halted and I stopped entering calories into MFP and inspecting my number of steps. Curiously, during this time when I did remember to double tap my fitbit into sleep mode and out of it again I easily racked up 8 hours.
