something tells me that the whole locking up richard thing is john trying to follow his dad's advice on how to win at love /j but it's not like richard would mind.

also yeah i forgot the whole custom back then and chaldea has many old timey servants with similar customs too in their own time era so they probably wouldn't bat an eye either. but for john and richard, it feels something deeper and more special. like hear me out on this: there are times when the kisses stay longer on each other's lips than usual. john hates it but also loves the feeling. the smell. and the taste. richard could only laugh quietly seeing the grimace on john's face until he pulls him into a kiss again, but it's quicker this time, probably to tease him and then he walks away instantly. john is not some simpering boy but he chuckles, he thinks about the kiss so often that he didn't realized that he's smiling even if there's nothing funny and the people beside him thinks he's crazy (he probably is atp) for laughing at nothing unless he tells them, but of course he can't because that's also crazy to admit it out loud, especially to guda. it gets worse if john avoids him for the whole day (richard going crazy in his head with 12934th thoughts on how he's gonna ravish john once he finds him).

I could never forget about the homage ever since I learned about it in history class when I was 8 lol, it's something I've thought a lot about throughout the years for some reason. I don't know what it stuck with me so much. Even outside that, I think Europeans seem more open to casual touches than what a JP person (like Guda or other Servants) would expect so even a cheek kiss, the kind Richard would inflict on his baby brother just like that (because that's what you do with younger siblings), would already be showing too much affection maybe...

I'm hearing you out, anon, nodding along with lots of enthusiasm, but I'm also shaking you suspiciously because I feel like you've been spying on my wips... There's this one fic I've been poking at for the last two months all about kissing (the mana transfer kind because it's Fate obviously, past homage kisses, and more secretive ones... Also there's a Judas selling Jesus out with a kiss ref because well. I think it's great and it fits) that I should finish one day maybe.

It's good that Richard understands John sometimes! John's probably easier to understand while in Chaldea where he accepts to indulge his brother's desires (he's happy to see Richard feeling more free because that's what he wished for, but also it does mess up with his low self-esteem, and he feels a failure who clings to his brother, preventing him from being truly free). His tsundere nature would force him to only smile openly when he thinks Richard isn't watching. Some Servants would ask him what's up and he stammers out a very bad excuse, but others like Guda and more perceptive Servants would just sense they don't want an answer to this question so it works out okay... I think?

And no matter what happens, Richard can catch up with him thanks to his EX Agility and carry him back to his room while telling him exactly what he's imagined in his mind (because he's normal like that) 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

richard and john's emotional codependence and enmeshment is strange but not surprising, though can never rival the targaryens. HOWEVER what i can say is that this codependence does earn them stares, especially on a lot of people in chaldea, including guda.

actually, forget on making them or have a go at it in the bed the shipcest, their emotional enmeshment so strong that it's enough to get psychologists high. hell, it might be the straw that make kiara lock tf in back to being a therapist too. because who tf in their right mind would let their brother lock them up like a prisoner? are you even a prisoner richard, if you're so willing to be locked up in the first place? asking john to end you? richard highkey crazy already but so is john for going along with his brother's whims.

on the side note, i'm crazy for john's waist. betting that richard and john sometimes try to peck each other on the lips in the middle of the hallways.

Guda has earned the right to ignore whatever is going on with their Servants' love (??) life after what happened in *gestures wildly* the entire game's story. As long as everyone is happy and nobody gets hurt, it's better than anything... They probably avoid getting caught in their issues though. Guda is busy with saving the world actually, they're not getting involved in this mess, they already know too much after the Snowfield event. The Chaldea staff would judge them but also avoid them for obvious reasons (<- it's actually dangerous)(Meunière would vague them out loud probably)

Kiara should become (or return to, I guess) being a therapist because it'd be very funny to me. I want a whole event based around her giving therapy to random Heroic Spirits actually. But that's not the subject lol.

I think the funniest thing about their enmeshment is that they have other siblings whom they have normal relationships with, but you'd never know that if you just hear their voice lines. I don't think we ever got a Henry the Young or Eleanor (their second sister) mention, Geoffrey got a single one (when Richard asks to be put down by John or Geoffrey), Matilda was mentionned in a throwaway line (when Richard says she taught John the German world for the Underworld and he used it as a name for his dog), and Joan was luckier because she got remembered like two times (Richard's Valentine's and when John tells Richard he made Berengaria and Joan go through it during the Third Crusade). The first 6 volumes of Strange Fake (I reread them recently so it's fresh on my mind) also only talk about John when it comes to Richard's siblings. So while their whole family is fucked up (for other reasons), the only ones with a borderline incestuous attachment to each other are these two dumpsterfires of a human being. They really went above and beyond to be weird toward each other actually.

Richard is... Well, he's Richard so if the one person he trusts above everyone to be right, then he's fine with anything is so... Why are you like this. It's very moe (in the incest way) that he believes John has the right to punish him for his crimes by killing him, and it's also very moe that he achieves his goal of burning in Purgatory because John tried to save him.

John is getting worse by virtue of Richard being the only person who truly believes in him lol, but he's also a weirdo because why would he tell his brother he'll lock him up in a labyrinth... That's what a legend as their father do to his mistress. Why would you do this to your own brother huh... But him wanting to deliver Richard from his fate and follow through with a promise that he hates is very cute. Very fucked but also very cute.

If there's a prisoner here, it's not Richard who's chained down physically, but John whose mind can't escape his brother's shadow.

John's waist is so tiny, so breakable... I showed it to my friend and forced them to look at both John's and God King Lackland's designs to show them he still has a tiny, slutty waist as an ojisan. Very good.

Also if there's something watching a series that takes place during their reigns showed me, it's that people really hugged and kissed each other a lot lol, so even if they weren't weirdos, they'd be very casual with touching I think...

I'm watching the Fate/Strange Fake anime right now (well, when I'm not at work) and not knowing every single detail of the characters' backstory/what they're doing (because the anime doesn't have the LN narration) is a loss. Things are just more enjoyable when I remember False Assassin is going around this American city in 2008 killing heretics* (*mage who aren't muslim) or trying to convert them to Islam. Like yes, this woman from a muslim sect from the Middle-Ages would do this, it's fully in-character and it's awful, I love her.

I don't know what's more frustrating about this fandom (or any fandom really), the character bashing being out in the open in the character's tags or the coy ship bashing that's buried in the post's tags that most people won't check for. Both are super fucking annoying and it's frankly a disgrace to other fans (<- getting heated about this). Why are some people telling fellow fans to kill themselves for liking a ship lmao, or saying they must hate the characters they ship together when, clearly, the people with a baggage here aren't the shippers.

When I talk about the bottom having wives/mistresses and kids or when I talk about the bottom being an older guy with ED (<- has never talked about this on Tumblr), I'm thinking about John I, King of England, okay. Sure, it's the anime version of the guy, but I'm also taking into account the real life guy's actual life. So he can have lots of kids legitimate and illegitimate and have ED when he's older so he can get fucked by his brother (who looks younger than him), Richard the Lionheart, when they're Servants, okay.

Finally read the latest chapter of the Scarabia manga and uwaaaaah, Jamil, you're so cringe... What's good with adaptations of a VN-type game is that you can see how the characters actually move during their dialogues and it highlights some things, and I feel like the manga nailed what a weirdo Jamil is here.

The chuunibyō style speech was already pretty bad in the game, but combined with the range of expressions and angles of the manga, we get to see Jamil "wannabe villain" Viper in all his splendor. God, he wants to be seen as cool, level-headed and superior so bad... But he's such a lame teenager! The Little Big Adventure was also very good with showing how deeply uncool he is which is very moe.

Jamil is at his coolest when he doesn't tryhard (like in his club card where he's focused on the game and looks incredibly cool), but unfortunately he graduated at the top of his class at tryhard school.

Anyway! He was very cute in this chapter.
