❗️Tips on how to spot Fake Moldavite❗️ The mineral industry is not regulated, there are unfortunately many fakes and misinformation out there. We have been in this business since the 90s and I am a Graduate Gemologist. We take great care to make sure that we are bringing you the most genuine and pure form of any mineral, or crystal that we sell. Recently there has been an upsurge of fake Moldavite on the market. Here are some tips one what to look for. 1. As true Moldavite is getting more and more rare, pieces are going up in price. If a price looks too good to be true, it very well may be. 2. Moldavite is included with many air bubbles as well “wires” which are Lechatelierite. These can be seen easily with a 10x loop. If your faceted stone or specimen is flawless, (no inclusions), this is another big sign that it could be fake. 3. Very large specimens are questionable as it is rare to find a piece over 3 or 4 inches. 4. If the specimen appears wet or too lustrious (shiny), that is another good sign it my be fake. 5. If the color is too good. Moldavite should be an olive green when views without a light. It should not be apple green. The piece you see here is about as green as it should be with a light put behind it. This piece has not been edited in any way.
