Molly's a shapeshifter right? What's her natural form look like?

its just an old doodle and its a little rough around the edges but this is what people from her planet tend to look like, whether they choose to stay looking that way or not is up to them ! they have different colorations which dont mean anything really and usually they shimmer / are glittery or are just shiny. sometimes wven translucent!

they can change into species theyre familiar with or be able to change enough little things about them to look like something else, size is a difficult thing to maintain but since trolls are humanoid and bipedal like lith she doesnt have too hard of a time maintaining the form

"Exchange DNA" implies Molly can learn to mimic critters by You Know, but also by eating parts of them. Also, can she do stuff like turn her limbs into weapons or smaller animals n' stuff? Is there a 'cooldown' on her transforming, like if she snaps out of troll form would she have to wait for an hour or s/t before turning back?

ummm yea theoretically! but if im honest the ppl from her planet r sorta uptight and would consider any other way vulgar. molly is much less... like that its why she left but shed prefer not to make it something weird

weapons? cat fingers like stuff su perhaps????? idk i dont think molly would have any experience but in theory she could, or rather someone of her species, could do that, but it would be purely organic. she can’t turn herself to metal or anything. or make another functioning brain, even if it was just cat fingers. her species cant do that.

cooldown and how hard it is to build up depends on the individual. it’s like exercising, one human can lift 20 pounds no problem but would struggle to lift 100, 200 etc unless they exercise and have built up strength and the endurance to do it. if you do it a lot and dont strain yourself constantly your cooldowns and build up wont take long, but it also depends on what they turn into. bigger or more complex species take longer to recover from. its something you train!

Are there limits to what Molly can turn into?

yes!!! molly cant turn into a set species if she isn’t already familiar with it enough to mimic it. size tends to be an issue, she can’t make herself HUGE or mini either. She can change individual aspects of her appearance which are easier to do and to maintain. molly can pose as a troll for a long period of time because 1) she’s very used it, 2) she’s exchanged DNA to learn the language (spit. she kissed someone) which helps, and 3) it isn’t a complex form considering her species come out looking humanoid for most part anyways so it isn’t far from her usual form.

one other creature she’s become skilled at mimicking are giant alien spiders, similar if not the same as what her “lusus” / pet alien spider are. she never really needs it but it’s her chosen form if she needs to fight.
