Judith Braun, subject of a two-part (and two-borough) concurrent solo exhibition at McKenzie Fine Art in LES and the inaugural show at Simuvac Projects in Greenpoint. Free.

Molly Lowe Experimental Feature Film @PioneerWorks
Filmed mostly inside handmade sets while on residency at Pioneer Works in 2014, experimental performance and video artist Molly Lowe will showcase her first feature-length film Redwood (2016) this Spring. Additional scenes were filmed in Northern California and the film was completed with the encouragement and generous commission of Pioneer Works.
A memory transplant between the protagonist and her grandmother send viewers of Redwood on a fragmented journey. Following a surreal narrative structure, this family drama travels through time featuring characters wearing fleshy, handmade masks & appendages.
Akin to the films of Guy Maddin, fans of experimental cinema will not want to miss this.
