Still, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t lend a helping hand where it was needed. And so he joins her by the bookshelf, distance politely maintained as he scans the spines of numerous volumes of tomes.

RUNNING INTO ANOTHER OPERATOR WAS, in a way, a sense of comfort. and yet, on the other side, there was a sense of almost fear which begins to burrow its way into her chest, sinking deep into the pits of her stomach. it was something she knew the moment she’d arrived 一 if she was able to make it here, that meant other armorless could also, holding her over as a fine trophy to chase after in circles in the finely made cage of theirs once more. maybe that was why she had chosen to approach the other after a moment’s hesitation, only letting the fear of being caught alone outweigh the worry that she, too, might treat her as the killer she is.

so, it’s with a hot cup of tea in her hands that she sits across the other. an all paid for treat, she called it, in the wake of the free dust she’d found sitting on her nightstand. ❝ ... so others have also shown up? And there’s no way out... ❞ the tired look on her face practically screams it all at this information, all before perking up just a little.

❝ ... does that mean the doctor is here? ❞ you could have waited at least another sentence before directly asking that, platinum.

“ Hm....half of these flavors don’t exist on Terra.” the Star Trail was fascinating. not only a place to acquire dishes found on this island, but it held booths from numerous other worlds. it was a cuisine hotspot. of course, there wasn’t anything from this booth that the Doctor could enjoy. Kal’tsit had her on a strict and healthy diet. to deviate from it now, just because her doctor isn’t around, would be foolish. it was necessary to hasten her already slow recovery. not that it was disheartening-- they are sure some healthy alternatives to ice-cream exist in this place. research can be done later.

“ Go on. Pick what you want. I have enough.” rarely does Amara get to spend time with any of the Operators employed by Rhodes Island that wasn’t fieldwork or a mission. and she knew of the redhead’s love for the cold treat. the least they could do was buy her one after she spent the day escorting the Doctor around.

SURPRISE IS THE FARTHEST REACTION, given her acceptance that if she were brought in to this place, it only means that the chances were others of her world would be. much so that when she spots a set of horns paired with hair of molten lava, paired with those piercing purple eyes, that she understands she’s met a fellow devil of terra. not only that, yet one from that very pharmaceutical, too. ❝ Yo, looks like Rhodes Island is missing an op or two. Not me, though. Don’t think our little bunny would consider my resume in action after that disappearing act back then, ❞ she chimes, tail swaying back and forth just a tad.

❝ You’re the one with the memory problems all up in that scrambled brain of yours, right? ❞ always leave it to her to choose the most provoking words. as calloused as her words are, there’s still a tinge of pity she can feel for the other in being so lost in their own head. not so much a connection than a flickering, fleeting understanding in some degree. ❝ Got it, got it... though getting brought here leaves lots to the imagination about that. ❞
