shouto would’ve never thought he’d end up here, but here he is– in a pristine hospital room, your barely three hours old baby girl nestled tight against your chest, staring at him and you both intently.
it’s not that he's never wanted this, he’d just never let his mind wander to a family of his own. even if he and his father are now on good terms — somewhat — he’d never thought he’d be able to experience this.
he takes another piece of sushi with the chopsticks, carefully holding his hand under it so that it doesn’t fall or the soy sauce doesn’t drip. “here,” he says gently. you open your mouth with a resounding aaaaah!, happy to be pampered by him, then chomp on the sushi happily. “dude, I missed this so much,” you moan, gesturing for him to come closer so that you can press a peck on his cheek.
“don’t call me dude,” he complains, but he’s smiling. how could he ever be actually mad at you when you’ve given him everything he’s never allowed himself to dream of? “you just gave birth to my kid. s’not fair.”
looking down at aiko, you gently tap your finger on her nose, laughing when she scrunches it. “I promise you were worth it, baby girl, but it was torture. I can’t wait for you to be able to eat sushi, you don’t know what you’re missing out on.”
shouto takes a piece of sashimi this time, dipping it into soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. he went all out, buying what looks to be at least half the restaurant’s worth of food for the day– not that you want to complain, obviously. you haven’t eaten raw fish in nine months and you have all the intentions to make up for the lost time. you hum as he feeds it to you, resting your back against the pillows of your bed. “after finishing all of this, I’m passing out,” you announce.
your husband nods, “seems fair to me.” he looks over to your daughter, whose eyes are no longer as focused as before. “I think she wants to join you in the land of dreams, too,” he whispers gently.
you pout. “our first mommy-daughter time and she’s falling asleep. she’s already so tired of me.”
shouto laughs at that, because even thinking about someone being able to be tired of you is so unbelievable to him that it’s funny. “give her to me,” he says after his laughter dies down, setting the chopsticks on the plate, “I’ll tuck her in the crib.”
you comply, gently lowering her in his arms, where she settles without a fuss. your husband gets up to go over the crib, discreetly looking under her little pink beanie to see a few tufts of red sprinkled on her mostly white hair.
she looks like fuyumi, he briefly thinks, smiling. she may be now, but I hope she grows up to be her mother's lookalike. delicately brushing the pad of his index finger across her face, he traces her little nose, the lids of her closed eyes and the curves of her cheeks — he can already picture a little girl with your eyes, your nose, your smile and your tenderness. the mere thought brings tears in his eyes, and he moves to lay her in the crib, tucking her in her little blanket.
he looks back to you, now scarfing down your sushi like there’s no tomorrow, and he thinks that he’s never been more in love in his entire life. “thank you,” he chokes, bending down to press a kiss on your temple. you look at him, confused, cheeks full of food like a hamster’s.
“wha?” you manage, gulping down another few bites of sashimi. “for giving birth to her,” he explains, “for putting up with me.”
“aw, sho,” you coo, smushing his face with your free hand, pecking his lips. “you’re so cute when you get all mushy on me.”
he can’t deny the obvious, so he just hums. “whatever you say, beautiful.”
“when are your parents passing by?”
“could be any moment now. last I heard, they were in the car waiting for mum to get everything– she made you muffins.”
you smile, melted by your mother-in-law’s thoughtfulness. having lost your own mother when you were just a kid, rei todoroki has taken it upon herself to fulfill the role that until meeting shouto had been empty. despite everything that had happened to her, she was always kind to you, treating you more like a second daughter rather than just her son’s girlfriend-then-wife.
you chomp on another nigiri, closing your eyes at the taste. “that’s it, I’m never getting pregnant ever again. to spend another nine months avoiding this…”
your husband bursts out laughing — a rather rare sight, even for such happy moments like these. “don’t laugh at me! you were eating raw salmon behind my back this whole time, so you just don’t understand!”
he gasps dramatically. “so you knew!”
“of course I knew, you traitor! you said you would’ve waited until I wasn’t pregnant anymore to eat it, but I found the box of it once when I was cleaning the kitchen! how could you do that to me–”
a knocking comes from the door, a head peeking through the small opening of it. “are we interrupting something?” fuyumi asks, a slight tease in her tone.
the bickering dies down immediately as rei and enji enter the room too, small smiles on their faces, endeavor’s hands busy with a plate full of muffins that he promptly leaves at your bedside. “everything went well, I hope?” he asks politely. it’s almost comical seeing him use such a mild tone, as he’s so big and buff that he takes up almost half the room.
your husband nods for you, “it was less gorey than I had feared.”
your face blanches. “wow, honey, what did you expect that could’ve possibly been worse than that?”
“don’t listen to him,” rei waves a hand in the air, “he’s always preparing for the worst. but it is true that you’re looking pretty good to have just given birth, I must say.”
fuyumi claps her hands. “yeah! you’re not looking like you just got split open in two. I’m pretty sure that when my time comes, I’ll look like a truck just ran me over.” she looks around, carefully eyeing the crib, “now, where’s my favourite niece?”
“your only niece,” shouto corrects, laughing. he carefully takes aiko from her cot and shows her off to his family. fuyumi gets closer without a second thought, cooing at the newborn, while rei and enji stay quite aback– you wonder if the last baby they ever held was your husband when he was little.
fuyumi coos and awws, bursting out crying when shouto lowers the cap on your daughter's head and shows her the little tufts that are her hair. "she looks like me!", she wheezes as your husband lowers aiko in her arms, rei and enji getting almost unnoticeably closer.
they all stare at her in silence before you break it, looking at rei. "would you like to hold her?"
she hesitates, her husband stilling at her side, but fuyumi doesn't have it– she hands her your bundle of joy happily, and the way your mother-in-law relaxes so quickly is almost heartbreaking. enji bends down quietly to have a better look at her, and you think you see his eyes tearing up.
he sniffles, looking at you. "you did a really good job," he manages. "she's perfect."

Billie wakes up with a start, heart pounding in her ears from the sudden wake up call. “What—?!” Her mouth is covered by a familiar hand, silencing her yell. “Mmhm?!” Eyes wide, she hones in on her twin’s face in the dark of their shared room. Save for the light flooding inside from the cracked open door, and their Spider-Man night light, it's pitch black.
“It's me!” Ramona whisper yells, front tooth still missing after she lost it in the playground. “Someone's downstairs. I think it's him!” Her eyes shine with excitement, curls bobbing up and down as she tries to contain her giddiness.
Billie yanks her sister's hand away, frowning at her from the sudden intrusion. “I was having a good dream, Mon.” Her look reminds Mona of her dad's exact expression when he has to mow the lawn again.
Mona ignores her sister's annoyance, “didn't you hear what I said? Santa's ‘ere! At our house!” She whisper yells again, this time loud enough for whoever's downstairs to pause their movements. Her eyes widened, hands covering her mouth to tamp down her excitement. “We should stay quiet—”
“Santa's ‘ere!” Billie is quieted once again by Mona's hands.
After waiting for a minute, the girls slowly and silently go outside of their room, matching holiday socks softly walking across the polished floorboards. Their pajamas are also on theme, with Mona opting for a pink sugar plum fairy matching set, and Billie wearing the classic Santa Clause set. Both that you've lovingly made for them. They're clearly excited, especially when it comes to the big bearded man in red. Billie more especially, after you and Hobie brought them to a local mall to see Santa and for them to give them their wishlist, she's been raving about wanting to stay up to catch him in the act. But after watching home alone and having a belly full of warm milk, she went out like a light. Mona on the other hand wants to see him eat the cookies you two prepared for Santa. It's her favourite, chocolate chips with marshmallows. She's hoping that the big man would like it, especially that she gave him the batch from her personal stash.
As they walk out of the hallway and into the floors of the second floor landing, they start to crawl once they see shadows dance along the walls of the living room. The tree that the four of you lovingly put up and decorated are twinkling with the holiday lights, reds, greens and yellows blinking in and out of the room.
“Do you think they'll like it?” They hear your familiar voice, whispering downstairs.
The girls make it to the stairs that overlook the living room, they make themselves smaller by lying prone on the cold floor, tiny hands grasping at the bannisters. Their eyes widen at the sight of who you are talking to.
Right next to you is the man of the hour himself, dressed in red with a giant sack of presents right next to him. He's taller than they've expected, and slimmer. Maybe Santa's cutting back on the cookies.
Billie grabs Mona's shoulder, shaking her excitedly. They wordlessly communicate through looks, based on their happy expressions, they feel like the luckiest kids in the world. They continue to watch Santa work his magic as he places wrapped presents underneath the tree with their names written on them.
“I know they'll love ‘em. ‘sides, Mona's been askin’ for it since July.” Santa replies to you, brown eyes shining in the string lights. His eyes seem to smile at you sitting in the corner of the room, hand occupied with a warm cup of eggnog. The bottom half of Santa's face is obscured by his big white beard, but he's clearly smiling softly at you. “And Bee always wanted that moon lamp ever since she saw Gwen's.”
Beaming at jolly Nick, you leave your cup on the coffee table to walk over to him. “I know, but what if they suddenly don't want those anymore.”
Santa stretches his hand out to you, beckoning you closer as he abandons the sack of presents on the floor. “Love,” love? The girls look at eachother with furrowed brows. Only their dad calls you that, and maybe occasionally that one shop owner downtown that you always buy fabrics from. “Y’know the girls would still be happy even if we gave them a potato each.”
You come to his side without saying anything about the close proximity to the actual Santa. The girls narrow their eyes at Santa's glove hand splayed across the small of your back, thumb rubbing gently across your soft pajama shirt. Only their dad gets to hold you like that.
Chuckling, you move to half hug him, arm wrapped around his back while you place your chin atop the soft red jacket. “Why a potato?”
“Because they go wild for chips.” He looks at you through gentle eyes, nudging his forehead on top of your own, the faux fur of his hat is soft against your skin.
“That's true, maybe we should've gotten them a whole sack of potatoes instead.” Your grin has the girls worried, especially when you move closer to him that the girls would know that it would have their dad burst into tears if they ever saw the scene in front of him.
“That's why ‘m santa, lovie.”
“Mm-hmm,” now you fully embrace him. The girls share a heavy look. “Why are you in full get up again? They won't be able to see you in this, not while they're snoring away all the cookies they had.”
“I know,” he shrugs, “what if they wake up, it'll be a nice memory for ‘em.” His arm squeezes you, hand dangerously close to your behind. The twins are both pissed, standing up from their place atop the stairs. “Or, ‘m all dressed up for you, love.” Santa winks at you, and you giggle in his arms. “Give big red a kiss, yeah?” As he leans in, the twins run downstairs swiftly, yelling and screaming at him to let their mum go.
“What— girls!” You move away, arms trying to block their attacks from hitting Santa.
“Not our mum!” Billie makes it to him first, clinging herself on his leg, trying to bite him through his red pants.
“We trusted you, Santa!” Mona leaps to punch at his stomach, earning a pained groan from the bearded man.
“Mona, no!” You grab her by the armpits as she continues to flail around, trying to get another hit. Good thing you’ve gotten to her before she aimed at his crotch. “Baby, no, that's—!” You contemplate telling them the truth, but Hobie's subtle head shake has you clamping down and embracing Mona.
“Ow, fuc–fudge!” Hobie hops around the room, trying to wiggle free of Billie, who's still clutching at his leg. “Billie, stop!” The one time that his spidey senses failed him.
“I don't care if ‘m on the naughty list! You tried to kiss our mum!” She chomps down on his leg, and he yelps when her baby teeth sink into the fabric and into his leg.
Hobie has no choice but to grab Billie the same way you did with Mona. He holds her in front of him, an arm's length away, still trying to take a chunk out of him. He feels like he ruined the magic of Santa for them. Not to mention the song.
“Stop–!” Hobie holds out his hand to her to tell her that he means no harm, but she tries to bite at his finger. “Billie—!”
“Daddy!” Ramona screams out, voice echoing and rumbling the house. “Daddy, there's an– an impruder!”
You would've chuckled at her fumbled pronunciation of intruder and told her the right way to say it, but when she's on the verge of tears; the both of them are, you have to think of a solution.
“Daddy!” Billie joins in, now fully sobbing. “H–He kissed mummy!”
“I haven't! Not yet!” Hobie tries to defend himself, or Santa for that matter. But it makes the whole thing so much worse when Billie wiggles herself out of his grasp to run towards yours and Hobie's bedroom while crying for him. “Shi—!”
You meet with his eyes while embracing a crying Mona. Mouthing a ‘Go!’ He immediately knows what you're up to. Your synergy levels with him are off the charts.
He leaves through the window, snow crunching underneath him and almost freezing him in the spot. He slowly rips off the Santa outfit one by one whilst he makes his way towards the back of the house. Shedding the beard and tossing it haphazardly in the backyard, he crawls on the wall, finally making it to the bedroom window just as when Billie opens the door with a loud creak.
Feigning naiveté, he acts shocked at her weeping as he opens his arms to her. “What happened?” She sobs on his sleep shirt, drenching it with tears. As Hobie pats her back, he realises that he's still wearing the gloves which he promptly throws away and under the bed before she could see it. “C’mon, mac, tell dad.” He cups her wet cheeks, trying to calm his little girl down.
“I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus!”
Hearing Mona's cry in the doorway with you carrying her, he knows that you two have a long night ahead of you.
—
“Are you sure you want to change pajamas, Billie? You said it's your favourite. The red suits you—” You try to placate her with a plate of chocolate pancakes.
“Yes.” She says so surely with her arms crossed over her chest, still fuming. “I hate Santa.”
Hobie's sitting right next to Mona, hand rubbing along her back whilst she stares angrily at the empty plate of cookies she left for Santa sitting on the counter. “Me too.” She huffs, stabbing her pancakes with a fork.
You share a look with Hobie, hoping that he has any idea how to calm them down. Hugging Billie seems to tamp down her anger, but she still looks at you with furrowed brows after you've apologized profusely.
“Why did you kiss, Santa?” She asked a few hours ago, stomping her little foot down on your bedroom floor, while her sister followed her lead.
“I didn't!” You stared at Hobie right next to you on the bed, looking like he's about to burst into laughter but is keeping it in. “And I wasn't gonna!”
After that whole ordeal, they seem to simmer down to a silent anger that still reverberates through the house. Maybe opening the presents earlier would make them forget it and make them smile.
“We should make signs, Bee! Like what dad makes so Santa knows not to come back ‘ere!” Mona lights up, you finally got a smile out of her.
“That's brilliant!” Hobie plays along, and Billie agrees with rapid nodding that you had to stop with your hand on her forehead before she breaks something. “I'll get my supplies, you two go finish your pancakes, yeah?” Just as he says it, they scarf down the pancakes, prompting Hobie to grab your hand and speed walk away from the kitchen.
Once the two of you are out of earshot and their sights, he corners you against a wall, hands cradling your cheeks, and sighing as he relaxes atop you.
You laugh against his hair, pressing lazy kisses on his hairline. “Don't forget to grab the outfit outside, Hobie. I made that to tailor you and you only.”
He lifts his head up from your chest, cheeks puffed out from sleepiness. Blowing out air, you giggle at him as he flutters your lashes. “I know, love.” His eyes roam all over your face, looking at every curve and dip until he stops at your lips. “I still haven't gotten my answer.”
“Or what? You'll put me on the naughty list?”
Hobie leans closer, lips brushing along your waiting lips. “Lovie, you're on my list every year.”
“I hope I'm the only one on it.” You say, wordlessly inviting him for a kiss by pecking his jaw softly.
“You and you only.” With a chuckle atop your lips, he kisses you under the mistletoe he subtly put up with the sole purpose of kissing you underneath it.

"I didn't mean to oversleep."
☾☾☾☾
☾☾☾☾
It was quite rare for you to have the chance to sleep in.
Even before the baby was born, you were pretty much up and going by dawn every day. It made you feel more productive to get up early and get the day started before the sun even had the chance to fully rise.
An occasional Saturday or Sunday would roll around where neither you nor Severus were in any rush to get up and moving. Those were during the slower weeks of the year, usually during the summer when Severus wasn't teaching and your work wasn't as demanding.
But after the baby was born, those occasional lazy weekend days had become pretty much obsolete. The mornings and nights had become less hectic as your newborn transitioned into an infant, and she was on somewhat of a sleeping schedule. However, when the baby was up, so were you.
Severus gave his fair share of helping out with the baby at all times of the day, but typically, Severus tended to her the most in the evenings. Severus usually fed her dinner, bathed her, and prepared her for her early bedtime.
It wasn't intentional really, but the two of you fell into a routine where you handled the mornings, the two of you rotated off during the day, and Severus handled the evenings/nights. Severus would help anytime when needed, but for the most part, that was the best arrangement.
On one particular weekend morning, however, the routine was different.
Severus awoke to a quiet house. There wasn't the sound of his wife stirring in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for him and the baby who would no doubt be babbling for her breakfast.
He felt a presence in the bed next to him, a gentle warmth coming from it as well. He was surprised to see you were still asleep, bundled up in the covers as comfortable as could be.
The warm glow of the newly risen sun beamed through the windows of the bedroom, spilling over your back that was facing the glass. He watched you only for a moment, pushing some stray hairs from your eyes and pulling the covers higher on you to keep you toasty.
It made his heart swell to see you getting some extra rest on your day off, and he made it his mission to let you sleep as long as possible. He was more than happy to be on baby duty that morning and a change of routine was a bit exciting.
The clock on his bedside table read 7:12 a.m. which did alarm him briefly. It was twelve minutes past the baby's usual wake up time, which meant either she was getting some extra sleep as well, or she was storming mad that no one had come to pick her up to begin her day.
Severus was quiet as he crept out of bed, his footfalls quiet as he exited your bedroom to enter the baby's room just next door. Severus always left the baby's nursery door slightly cracked in the event the baby needed something during the night or woke up earlier than usual.
He pushed the door open gently, a burst of sunlight painting the hallway. The room was perfectly warm for a January morning, a vast difference from the bitter cold on the outside.
He glanced at the crib, seeing some movement in the crib. She was squirming excitedly, happy that someone was finally coming to get her up for the day.
She was awake, but not agitated in the slightest that no one had come to get her yet. She was content to lie in her crib for a little while, the charmed mobile above her crib keeping her entertained. She couldn't have been awake for very long, considering it was only a few minutes after her usual wake up time.
Severus approached her crib with a gentleness that few knew he possessed. His dark eyes, so often narrowed with sternness, softened when they gazed upon his child.
"Good morning, darling." He smiled, reaching down to pick up the cooing baby.
His daughter smiled back at him with a sleepy grin and sluggish eyes, but held an expression of confusion as to why her mother wasn't there to wake her like usual.
"Not expecting me this morning, hm?" He asked, which only returned a yawn from his daughter. "We'll let Mum sleep in this morning. She deserves it."
The eight-month-old only babbled in response, mouthing at Severus' shoulder through his T-shirt. You and Severus were pretty sure she had some teeth coming in based on the fact that she wanted to chew on everything.
Usually you dressed the baby as the first step of her morning routine, but it was the weekend so she would more than likely be home for the majority of the day. Severus opted to leave her in her pajamas for now, which she had no protests with.
She was rather clingy today, her tiny hands grabbing for him to pick her up again once she was dressed. She knew that if anyone in the world would pick her up whenever she wished, I was Severus.
Severus struggled with leaving her when she wanted to be picked up. You had been telling Severus for the last month or so that it is indeed okay to let her sit on her own as long as she's being supervised. She was beginning to work towards crawling, and you knew the only way she was ever going to learn to crawl was if she had the chance to be on the ground.
But Severus couldn't resist his daughter's grabby hands and beaming eyes. He spoiled the little girl, and he just couldn't tell her no.
He whisked her down the stairs, smiling at her giggles when he pressed a kiss to her temple.
Severus knew it was time for breakfast, and he knew that she was going to get fussy if he didn't get her fed soon. He slipped her into her highchair, her legs wiggling as she squirmed with anticipation.
"What would you like for breakfast, princess?" He asked, only receiving an interested stare in response. "I know you like eggs...and I think Mum picked up some fruit yesterday."
Severus turned and surveyed the inside of the fridge, studying its contents to make a decision. She was getting impatient, whining and babbling for Severus to hurry up. She was on a specific schedule, and her late wake up time had her about fifteen minutes behind.
Severus went with his suggestion on the premise that eggs and fruit were a safe option. She wasn't terribly picky, but since this wasn't her usual routine, he figured giving her something that he knew she liked was best.
Severus selected a few eggs from the fridge, deciding to cook them all and divide the portion appropriately between himself, you, and the baby. He knew it wouldn't be long before you were up, so he got started on getting a pot of coffee brewed as well.
With a wave of his wand, the stove ignited and began cooking the eggs in a pan while he worked on getting some fruit mashed up for her.
"Strawberries or a banana?" He asked her, who was more interested in dancing in her chair than picking which fruit she wanted.
Severus was certain that she hadn't eaten strawberries before. He took a chance and went with the strawberries, retrieving a few and getting them smushed enough to be suitable for baby consumption. He plated the eggs once they were cooked,
He pulled up a chair to her highchair, holding the tiny baby spoon and bowl in his hand to begin feeding her baby spoonfuls of her breakfast.
She made a noise of approval with the strawberries, barely even swallowing before motioning for more. For an eight-month-old, she was a fantastic eater and would try nearly anything.
Your daughter giggled, her eyes sparkling with the sight of her dad in front of her. Severus couldn't help but feel a tug at his heartstrings. This was a side of him that no one else got to see, a side reserved only for his precious little one.
He felt so incredibly lucky to have a child. He felt even more blessed to raise her and love her in the ways he never was. He wasn't a perfect father by any means, but he made it his personal mission to never give her a reason to think of him as a bad father.
When her noises slowed and she hesitated to take any more bites of food, Severus stopped feeding her and began cleaning up. Slowly but surely, she was fed to satisfaction -- and Severus managed to fill himself up by getting bites in between feeding her.
Her face and shirt was painted with stains of sticky red from the strawberries, but she was happy as a clam and not at all concerned about the fact that she would most certainly need a bath.
Severus stood at the sink, letting her entertain herself while he arranged the dishes to be washed. When she gave a particularly joyous squeal, he knew that she had spotted something that she liked.
You were up now, standing in the doorway of the kitchen just freshly awake.
"Good morning, you two." You spoke gently, still clad in your sleepwear from the night before.
Severus turned, grinning at you with a small pink tint in his cheeks.
"Good morning, darling. We've just had breakfast." He smiled at you, his wife who he adored so dearly.
"I see that. You should've woke me up," You said. "I didn't mean to oversleep."
"Nonsense, darling. You needed the rest, and I am perfectly capable of taking on breakfast," He said. "I...assumed eggs and fruit were a safe choice."
"Oh, yeah. That's perfect," You approached the highchair, using your fingers to swipe some of her bed head hair to the side. "Looks like the strawberries were a hit." You laughed, noting the stains of red on her pink pajama shirt.
"Yes...sorry about that, my love." He blushed.
"I needed to do laundry today anyways," You smiled, not irritated in the slightest. "She'll be grown out of it soon."
A slight pang in Severus' chest made him go quiet for a moment. She was growing so fast that he couldn't even believe it. In four short months, she was going to be a year old. To think that it had been almost a year since she was born completely blew his mind. Next thing he knew, she would be starting her first day at Hogwarts and getting sorted into her House.
For now, he was enjoying her infant stage of life. Just as he had cherished the newborn phase, and how he would the toddler stage and beyond.
"I say it's time for a bath." You lifted her from her highchair, laughing again at how sticky she was.
"I can handle it," Severus said, turning the sink faucet off. "Might as well finish her morning routine."
"Are you sure?" You asked, feeling a bit guilty that he was taking on your usual morning duties.
"Absolutely," He grinned, taking her from you and turning his attention to her. "Mum will read you your bedtime story and put you to bed tonight. Does that work?"
She only hummed, clearly content with the arrangement they had going on today.
"Thank you, Sev." You said, thanking him for being so attentive and letting you sleep in for a bit.
"Oh, darling, it was nothing," He pressed a kiss to your forehead. "Why don't you have breakfast and coffee while I get her ready for the day?"
Sure enough, Severus had a plate and a cup of coffee ready to go for you, a charm casted to keep the coffee hot and the food warm.
"The day where we have nothing planned?" You grinned, and Severus chuckled.
"Exactly."
And to Severus, a Saturday with nothing to do was perfect. In a lot of ways, nothing was everything when you and the baby were around.
His family (albeit small) was everything he ever needed.

I HAVE AN UNFINISHED STORY THING THAT I WANT TO SHARE!!!!!!!
(I haven’t worked out all the details yet so I’m just gonna give you the gist of it.)
The Chain are settled for the evening and hear screams in the forest and go investigate… there they find a pregnant reader (at least 6 months) about to be attacked by the shadow and its monsters. The Chain defeat the monsters and the shadow retreats. They patch up reader and try to ask questions as to why she was attacked. They don’t get much out of her, all reader can really say is-
“None of the townsfolk like me, but I don’t think anyone would want me dead.”
The Chain is wary of the situation but promise to protect reader for the night and escort her back home in the morning. Eventually during a very tasty dinner, the baby kicks and reader goes-
“You like it too, Link?”
While gazing lovingly at her belly and rubbing the spot where the baby kicked. The entire Chain immediately freeze. Time and Wars eventually snap out of the shock and start to ask questions.
“Your baby’s name is Link?”
“Yes.”
“Is he named after the father?”
Reader scoffs. “No. I don’t wish my child to have anything in common with that bastard.”
“What made you want to name him Link?”
“It came to me in a dream.”
“How do you know it’s a boy?”
Reader gets a bit sheepish. “Well… I don’t. But in my dreams I always see a boy. However, I do have a name in case he turns out to be a she. Lana. Pretty, right?”
(Cue Wars getting PTSD flashbacks. MOVING ON!!!)
Similar questions continue until reader gets fed up and is like-
“Ok, what’s going on? Why are you all so interested in me and my child?”
The Chain just looks among each other as they’re unsure of what to tell reader as they’ve just met and she’s already been attacked tonight so her mental state probably isn’t the best. Legend just goes-
“Are you positive you’ve never seen the shadow or anything like it before?”
Reader hesitates for a moment before answering. The Chain notices and pushes her on it. They eventually convince her to tell them.
“Well… not all the dreams I have about my child are good. Actually, most of them are terrible nightmares.”
“Can you tell us what happens in these nightmares?”
Reader sighs. “Truthfully, it’s just one repeating nightmare. I wake up in what appears to be a castle or something similar and I’m covered in blood. I hear a baby crying and I rush to the sound as fast as I can, I end up in a circular room and on the other side of it… there’s a black figure with red eyes holding my sleeping baby and grinning at me. Before I can get close to my baby, a horrible stabbing pain rips through my chest… and then I wake up.”
So yeah, the Chain realize that reader is carrying this era’s hero of courage. They decide to take reader with them to keep her and the baby safe from the shadow. It’s a big adjustment for everyone involved… The Chain have to learn how to continue their adventure with a pregnant lady they have to care for while reader has to learn how to maneuver life traveling with all these men on a dangerous journey.
Probable questions with answers.
Q. Why don’t the townsfolk like reader?
A. Because she got pregnant with the Mayor’s son’s child… out of wedlock.
Q. Why did they ask if the baby was named after the father?
A. They were hoping that the hero of that era was already an adult and had finished his adventure so the baby was in no danger of carrying the fate attached to their shared name.
Q. Why does reader hate the father?
A. Because they got trapped in a huge snowstorm together and had no choice but to use “survival 101” to survive… He pressured her into doing the dirty. When she told him she was with child, he wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. He told everyone she was a harlot and had practically forced herself on him to save his reputation. Since he was the mayor’s son and well liked while she was just a simple huntress who kept to herself… everyone believed him.
Q. Why does reader have these dreams?
A. They’re warnings. Something or someone is trying to tell her of the dangerous future that lays before her.
Q. Is this a platonic story or a romantic one?
A. Um… I actually don’t know. The story has shifted between the two a few times since its creation. Romance is a bit weird in this context as reader is the mother of this era’s hero but there is absolutely no blood relation to any of the other heroes (bombastic side eye to Time and Twilight.) so it is still possible. However, the romance route the story takes is mostly with Warriors whenever it does shift that way. I’m not sure why, but that’s just how it flows.
That’s it! At least for now. Any thoughts or comments? Anything you’d like to add? Any ideas you’d like to share?I really adore your writing so anything you have to say would be greatly welcomed!!! Any and all feedback is appreciated. 😊
OOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!
CONSIDER ME HYPED!!!
I feel like I should have a lot to say but there's so much potential that I'm sure what's the direction you want to take it.
I know that it's not necessarily said in the Zelda universe, but what if Reader was a descendant of Sky and related to the "royal family". Not the mayor's family. Reader can easily be from a kingdom outside of Hyrule. But like a long lost cousin twice removed or something to the Queen of Hyrule. That way the dreams would be less like warning and more on the prophetic dream thing.
Whether Sky delves into this, of it becomes tied into Reader's relationship with the official royal family of Family can be talked about later.
I also wanted to say that romance isn't inherently a bad thing to add. If it's leaning towards Warrior whenever it comes into the mix, then I say lean into it. Granted, I'm a sucker for romance and I know it's not needed for a good story. But if the dynamic between the character lends itself naturally to it, then let the characters lead. :)
I would give more notes but I would need to know more with where you're going with it. (Thank you for the Q and A at the end. I loved it. It helped a lot. XD)
A/N: Did you know that I make all of these collages myself? I’m considering making some for fanfiction writers in return for ideas/help with some of my fics. Or just in general. If you’re interested let me know!

“MOOOOOOM!!!!”
A yell woke me out of my sleep, and I stumbled out of bed, almost taking my entire bedset with. Still half asleep, I stumbled into Lillith’s room.
“What’s up kiddo?” I dreary asked, yawning.
“Breakfast!” She answered cheerfully. She was doodling in one of her several sketchbooks with a set of markers Clint got her for Christmas last year.
“Yeah, yeah, let me wake up first, yeah?” I told her as I headed back to my room.
After blinking a bit, I headed to the bathroom. I splashed some cold water on my face and got out my morning routine supplies. I noticed that I felt….sticky.
“Shit.” I said quietly. Another nightmare. I hope I didn’t wake Lillith up.
I hopped in the shower, nearly shrieking as cold water blasted on me.
After a quick shower, I got dressed in a red t-shirt and black overalls.
“You’d better be dressed by the time I come out!” I yelled to Lillith.
“Okayyyyyyy!” she yelled back. I chuckled as I pulled my shoes on.
After making sure my hair wasn’t a complete lion’s mane, I walked out. Lillith was holding her sketchbook and the bag of her markers, dressed in a t-shirt and leggings. What made me question her outfit were the two different shoes-a rainboot and a slipper.
“You’re wearing those shoes? I thought you wanted to make pancakes.” I told her. I leaned against the doorway and watched as she ran back into her room, and came out wearing a pair of sneakers.
I pulled her into a side hug, kissing the top of her head. “Good morning, love.” I told her.
“Good morning mom!” She replied back. After releasing my grip on her, she ran to the elevators. I got in with her and pressed the button for the main floor. The main floor consisted of the kitchen, bar, main hangout space, library, part of the gym, and only Stark knew what else.
It'd take me a week or more to explore the tower fully. Damn millionares, making things so difficult by having like Fourty fucking floor buildings.
I rubbed my eyes as we came to a stop. Damn, I was tired.
We walked in, and immediately I wrinkled my nose. Something was burning. We walked towards the kitchen, where I heard yelling.
“How the hell did you catch the eggs on fire?!” Spoke someone.
“I had no idea eggs could catch on fire!” someone else yelled.
I walked in and the burning smell became almost overpowering. Sam and Steve were standing in the kitchen, flabbergasted. Natasha was holding a smoking pan of what I assumed were the eggs. She looked like she was shocked by what just happened. James was sitting at the island, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper, acting like it wasn’t new of Natasha to catch food on fire.
“...so that’s the burning smell.” I commented, looking towards Natasha. She scowled at me and put the pan in the sink, running water over it. I shook my head and helped Lillith in one of the island stools, and sat her next to James. She started coloring, occasionally looking towards James’s newspaper.
I walked into the kitchen, gently moving Natasha away from the sink. I ran lukewarm water over it, then cold once the smoke stopped. I let the pan soak and turned towards her. She was leaning against the island, her arms crossed and a frown on her face.
“Next time, don’t use that much oil.” I told her. She scoffed, and grabbed what I assumed was her cup of coffee, and sat next to Lillith.
Lillith was sat between two ex-Hydra assassins, and both of them were commenting on her drawings. I smiled at that. I poured myself a cup of (favorite drink) and started to get out the ingredients for pancakes.
“Chocolate chip or blueberry?” I asked Lillith.
She looked up from her drawing and grinned at me. “Chocolate!” she yelled to me.
“Are you helping or drawing?”
“I’ll help with the mixing. You cook em!”
I laughed and watched as Natasha helped her off the stool, and she practically ran over to me.
I grabbed a step stool and helped her up on it. I grabbed a bowl and fork, and set out the measuring cups and ingredients for Lillith. We’re double batching this, because I know the boys will eat more than half of the first batch.
“Why are you using a fork? We have whisks you know.” Steve told me.
“The batter gets too sticky, forks work better.” I replied.
I helped Lillith measure out the ingredients properly, and put them away as she used them. Right before we got to the wet ingredients, I instructed her to mix the dry ingredients together. After doing that, we carefully mixed in the wet ingredients. After cleaning all that up, I got the bag of chocolate chips.
“How chocolaty will this batch be?” I asked her. She hummed and grabbed the bag. I grabbed the table griddle and plugged it in, turning it on.
I looked over to Lillith, who had tore open the bag and was dumping the entire thing in the batter.
“Guess that answers that.”
Sam burst out laughing, and Steve was grinning. Thankfully, it worked out. With the batter doubled, we could use the entire bag. We usually ended up using half with a normal batch. But there’s nothing normal about four super soldiers, a God, a 6-year old that somehow can manage to eat half her body weight in food, a man with anger issues that is supposed to consume something like eight hundred thousand calories everyday to keep up with his alter side, an archer who spent more time in ventilation shafts than on solid ground, a witch teenager, someone that somehow managed to be Capsicle’s friend, and man in a metal suit.
After Lillith mixed and evenly distributed the chocolate chips, she grabbed one of the measuring cups and scooped the batter in it. She handed it to me, andI poured it on the hot griddle.
I flipped it after a bit, and was rewarded with the golden-brown color, a tell-tale sign of a damn good pancake.
We served them as I cooked them, and they were quickly eaten by the time we were half way through the bowl. Everyone had come down to eat some free breakfast.
Thanking the compliments, once I noticed everyone had eaten besides Lillith and I, I told her to go sit down so she could eat. I fixed her pancakes up and slid the plate over to her.
She happily munched down as I finished my pancakes and turned off the griddle. I put the bowl and the rest of the supplies away or in the sink; then plated my pancakes.
I leaned against the counter and laughed as both Natasha and James stole a piece of pancake from Lillith, who in turn stole nearly an entire pancake from James. How she got away with it was beyond me, but she did.
I’m glad I have that kid. Sam started a conversation with Lillith about the pancakes, and she happily replied about all the Saturdays where I’d wake up early and make pancakes.

The Fates had dealt Levi a rough life.
When the goddess Clotho had spun the thread of his life, she must have incorporated thorns into every string; even now Levi could feel the pricks of guilt that chipped away at his soul each time he opened the bottom drawer of his desk and faced the bloodied scout patches of the lives lost..
Lachesis had enforced his life; she had been the one to use his thread to create. Although, Levi must admit, the fates must have favored him a tiny bit if they had sent you to him. You, his lovely wife whom he met one late evening under the stars, a gash on his head and gauze in your hand ready for you to patch up.
You had been there to take out every thorn in his thread Clotho had stuck in his life; every ounce of guilt, every second of regret had been a burden on his shoulders you relieved by simply being there.
Perhaps the Fates weren't all that bad.
They must have been even just an ounce of virtuous if they had allowed him to call you his forever. The fates had strung together a love story into his thread of life and allowed him to invite someone into the most intimate parts of him, allow him to find peace within someone; to create a life together.
Levi could remember the day when you burst into his office, a smile so bright he was sure even the sun was envious of the warmth you radiated. No words were spoken as you pulled him into your arms and cried.
It was only through hiccups and sobs did he hear your soft voice tell him he had created a life. And while your stomach was still as flat as it had been the night before and many nights before that, he pressed his hand against it nonetheless and promised to protect the life within you until his very last breath.
Perhaps the Fates weren't all that bad.
Isabel, as the two of you named your daughter, had become a nearly carbon copy of her father. not only did she share many features in common with him, she also inherited his strength.
She was able to hold her head up on her own only a mere months after birth, and she often gave you a terrible fright when she climbed out of her crib at night with a strength a toddler shouldn't have. Though, it was of no real surprise to either of you; you were sure your womb must have taken a terrible beating with the strength of her kicks while she was still growing inside of you.
And, with her strength and many similarities with her father, came her desire to join the scouts.
It was the first time in her life Levi had denied her something.
Admittedly, little Isabel had her cold, ruthless captain of a father wrapped around her stubby little finger since the moment you pushed her out of your womb. You could hear the way he promised to give her anything her little heart desired and often you found yourself being more strict with her.
Though, this had been Levi's one fear.
Levi has seen countless people fall beyond the walls. He's witnessed Farlan and Isabel (his daughter's namesake) tragically torn to pieces by those wandering monsters. He’s seen countless bodies piled up in wagons to return to the walls for burning.
You’ve seen your fair share of horrors, too. You’ve seen the injuries people walk into your clinic with, the blood gushing through gaping wounds, their bones snapped in angles they shouldn't, the limbs you've had to amputate; and the sheer image of your daughter being one of them was enough for you to turn green with sickness.
There were countless arguments between Levi and Isabel (you often found yourself the mediator of these fights and cursing the fates for making both father and daughter stubborn as mules). But ultimately, Levi had caved as he always did, and promised to train her harder than anyone else in the training corps.
True to his word, Isabel often returned home with bruises and collapsed next to you on the couch, her head falling into your lap with fatigue. You smiled as you ran your fingers through her hair as she tiredly recounted her training with her father and other members of the Training Corps.
She had recounted many stories of the friends she’s made there; an arrogant boy named Jean who she loved to tease and roughhouse with, a boy with a buzzcut named Connie she liked to mess around with and prank occasionally, and a girl named Sasha.
The dusty pink on her cheeks when she told you stories about her sprouted an inkling inside of you that made you think she was more than just a friend to your daughter. You only smiled as she went on.
Though, late at night, when your husband had long ago fallen asleep and your daughter was tucked safely away in her room, did you find yourself praying to the Fates. You prayed no arm would come to your daughter and she would lead the happy life she deserved. You prayed the Fates were kind.
Perhaps . . . the Fates weren't kind . . .
Levi should have known the fates hadn't meant to give him a life as peaceful as his (or as peaceful as it could be with you and Isabel by his side). He should have known better than to think the Fates were righteous.
Afterall, the goddess Atropos always came to collect what was due. Atropos was the third and final Fate, the goddess who cut the threads her sisters weaved and toyed with. She was the one who claimed souls. Atropos watched time and time again as Levi avoided her attempts to collect his thread and grew frustrated the more he slipped through her fingers like sand. So, Atropos did the next best thing.
She stole a life close to him.
Levi could feel his blood run cold when Jean walked in, his hands fisting the shirts of two children and his eyes wild with shock. His words were shaky and his eyes were covered in a daze of denial, as if his mind was trying to protect him from the inevitable heartbreak he would experience.
Levi waited with a bated breath for Jean to crack a smile and admit this was all some sick joke he could punish him later for. That his whole thing was nothing but a nightmare and he was bak at home, cuddled in bed with you and your daughter was sleeping soundly in her room just down the hall.
But he knew it wasn't a dream, not when you gasped as you did, when he could practically see your heart shattering in your eyes and the way you nearly pushed him to the floor as you ran to the back of the airship. Levi followed close.
"ISABEL!"
You had practically thrown Connie to the side to get to your daughter. Her eyes were hazy with the same veil of death you had seen time and time again with your patients and friends. Sasha stood still to the side, her eyes wide and her hands shaking, “should have been me, it should have been me.” She chanted the words like a spell that would somehow transfer the wound to her, a spell that would miraculously heal your daughter who lay on the cold hard floor of the airship, blood slowly seeping out of her.
The logical medic in your brain delivered you the harsh truth as you assessed your daughter and her wounds. The unforgiving voice hissed in your ear about her inevitable death, the wound is too fatal, there’s no way she’ll make it back to the island. You hushed the voice as quick as it spoke, your heart denying the severity of the situation.
"oh," Levi could only watch as you clutched onto Isabel, your hands working like clockwork as they put pressure on her wound despite the violent shake in them, "oh, my baby..."
Levi took a hesitant step closer. It was haunting, watching his daughter who held so many of his qualities lay on the floor, bleeding to death. He had remembered the many times she pulled his hair as a child, giggling loudly as she pointed out the obvious, ‘I’m just like you, daddy!’
Oh, how he wished he could go back to those moments. When his daughter was nothing but a small child he cradled in his arms, tucking her safely under his chin as he gently rocked her side to side to lully her back into a deep sleep. He wished to go back to the nights he held your hair back as your stomach churned with nausea and your daughter was but a growing fetus, protected within the walls of your womb.
"M . . . mommy . . .” Isabel breathed.
You sobbed harder, "it's okay baby, i'm here, mommy's here."
You ran your fingers through her hair, hushed her and soothing her as you once did many years ago when she was nothing but a small baby clutching onto the material of your dress.
She had been so tiny then, so fragile and sweet and innocent. But she had long since grown out of her baby face and matured into a strong woman you were proud to have nurtured. But in this moment, it was as if she returned to the same fragile baby as she was years ago as she clutched onto the straps of your gear like a lifeline, her eyes dull but full of fear and hesitance.
"Mommy please, i'm- s' scared . . ." her voice was breathy and you could see the energy drain from her eyes the harder she tried to keep them open.
You wanted to be selfish, to tell her to keep her eyes open, to keep breathing and push through the pain. But you could see the pain flash in her eyes each time she took a breath, you could hear her breathy wince with every movement she made, and you knew you couldn’t be selfish.
Levi could see your resolve slowly crumble, the way the shake in your hands grew more and more violent and he could practically see the screams bubble in your throat as you tried to swallow them down to comfort your daughter. Levi knew if he didn't step in now, there would be no salvaging the broken pieces of you after this.
"It’s okay, princess." Levi crouched down on the other side of his daughter, his jaw clenching and unclenching as he tried to keep his composure.
Her head slowly turned to him, "d-daddy . . . ?"
Levi hummed, "Yeah, it's me princess. It’s okay, you did so well, you were so brave."
"I was?" her words were breathy and rushed as she tried to cling on to the last threads of her life. You could feel her grip in your gear lose its strength and you nearly let the screams clawing at your throat escape.
pleasepleasepleaseplease, you begged, not her please not my baby.
"So brave."
Levi had never felt so helpless watching his daughter's eyes lose their life, he could only sit there and reassure her that everything would be fine and she had done good as she took her last breaths. Images of the other Isabel laying dead on the floor flashed through his mind and Levi nearly vomited.
"I love you"
Levi nodded, "I know. I love you too, princess. Now rest."
The winds howled loudly outside, but there was nothing loud enough to drown out the screams that had finally escaped from you as you gripped your daughter’s hand so tight your knuckles turned white. Levi held you close as tears of his own dripped down his face and an indescribable weight placed itself in his heart.
The Fates were not kind.
Life after that seemed to lose its shine.
Your home was hauntinly quiet. Every inch of the home had memories of your daughter carved into the wooden frame. Her first words, her first steps, her first breath. You had given birth to your daughter in the living room, and where the walls once gave you comfort and warmed your heart with reminders of the first life you had brought into the world, it now made you sick with grief and added to the weight in your heart. She had taken her first steps in the hallways, clutching your fingers tight as you guided her down the hall to Levi who waited for her with a proud smile. Her first words had been in the kitchen, where you and Levi cooked dinner for your quaint little family and she called out to the two of you, begging for attention. And who was Levi to deny his princess?
You and Levi struggled to find your places in the world after that. Late at night, the two of you often clung to each other for comfort. Though, you knew Isabel’s death was hitting Levi harder than you. You could see it in the way he tucked her Scout badge into the left breast pocket of his shirts, hoping to keep the memory of her close to his heart; the way he avoided every mirror like it was the plague. You could see it in the way he flinched whenever he caught sight of his reflection, his own steel grey eyes and matted black hair staring hauntingly back at him.
Isabel had taken after her father the most, afterall.
You also found Levi’s features a bit hard to look at after that. It was hard to look into his eyes and see your daughter staring right back at you with a pleading look to not leave. There had been late night conversations where Levi assured you he knew of his similarities to Isabel and promised to not be mad if you wanted to leave him, 'I find it hard to look at myself sometimes.'
But you only held him tighter and stuck closer to his side, washing away any thoughts he had of you leaving him. You married him because you loved him, and nothing could change that. Even if he looked so similar to your lost daughter.
The Fates also decided to make your lives a bit harder, as if taking away your first born hadn’t been enough suffering to put you both through. Levi had been sent away with Zeke into hiding. Initially, you wanted to go with him, to stick by his side and cling to your life support, but the others hadn’t allowed it.
Hango could only grip your wrist tight as you watched Levi climb into the carriage and ride away.
You begged Hange not to leave you alone after that; because you knew if you were left alone for long enough, there would be nothing stopping you from joining your daughter in the afterlife.
Hange stayed by your side.
You wanted to vomit.
You could feel the sickening churn in your stomach as you stared down at the very girl who had stolen the life from your daughter. The images of your daughter clutching on to you tightly and her scared voice begging you to comfort her rang loud in your ears. Your mouth had dried instantly, any one of the thousand of words rattling in your head stopped by the numbness in your mouth. There were so many things you wanted to say, so many words you wanted to exchange with the girl who had taken your child from you.
You could see Nicolo’s mouth move and his adam's apple bob with every sound he made, but it was all muffled whitenoise as your eyes trained onto the little girl who stared up at you with a look of horror and fear.
“ . . . kill her,” Nicolo’s voice buzzed in your ears.
You hadn’t even realised you took the knife from his hands until you heard Hange speak up from behind you. She begged you to put the knife down, to think rationally.
But how could you? How could your mind think of anything other than harming the girl who was the cause of all your pain? When the girl who murdered your daughter was right in front of you, sitting on her knees, vulnerable. Your heart screamed and thrashed against the veins that held it in place for you to stab her, to make her feel the same pain your baby had to go through.
But then she looked up at you. Her eyes were wide with the same fear and pleading look your daughter had in her final moments. You dropped the knife, your shoulders shaking as your eyes lined with unshed tears.
“Kill a child. . . you- you want me to kill a child. . .” Armin stared at you from the side as your shoulders sagged and a few tears escaped your eyes, and he couldn’t help but realize how tired you looked. As if the weight the world had placed on your shoulders was finally catching up to you and your body struggled to carry it any longer.
“I can’t do that. She’s a child. Someone’s daughter.” You collapsed to the floor, your hands digging to the carpet underneath you, “I can’t kill a child, not while I know what it feels like to lose your own. I can’t put another mother through the same pain I’m in. I just- can’t.”
Hange kneeled next to you and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, her lips pressed into a thin line and sympathy swimming in her eyes for her friend who had lost her world. You looked back up to Gabi and she nearly flinched with how broken and tired your eyes looked, “I can only hope she’s found peace in the afterlife. . .
“I can only hope the Goddesses of Fate are kind to her soul.”

Pairing: Tony Stark x Reader
Words: 4435
(Y/N) had been as single mother ever since she was twenty-one years old, thinking that the man she had been was going to be the one only to find out that he left her… for her best friend. That didn’t matter to (Y/N) anymore the only thing that matter to her was taking care of her son Peter with no one else getting in the way of that. It wasn’t easy being a single parent and working an office company that ate away almost half her day. She had moved into an apartment complex with others due to it being the nicest, yet cheapest she could afford. She was was resting on the couch with her one year old son in her arms as they both slept after a long day for both of them.
Suddenly there was a knock at her door as her eyes fluttered open when she slowly rubbed the sleep from her eyes before laying Peter down onto the couch. She stood up stretching before she walked to the door as she glanced at the clock to see it was almost midnight. She opened the door as her eyes widened slightly, her neighbor Tony Stark was standing at her door. She had lived at the apartment building for about two years and he was one of the nicest people she had met. He was also helping her when she needed something fixed and she had to admit he was pretty hot to say the least. “Oh hey Tony anything I can do for you?” She asked softly.
“Hello...Uh… This is going to sound weird, but my apartments getting renovated and I can’t stay in it for a few weeks due to some of the chemicals they’re using or whatever… I was wondering if I could possibly stay at your apartment until it’s over. It’s completely fine if not it’s just… you’re the only one I’d go to for this sort of this.” He said rubbing the back of his head as she chuckled. “Um.. Sure. I don’t see why that won’t be a problem.” She said before he smiles. “Thanks, it starts tomorrow so I’m gonna go get some of my stuff so I don’t have to disturb them tomorrow. I’ll be back okay?” He asked as she nods. “It’s okay.” She said as he rushed down the hallway.
About an hour later Tony had all the stuff he needed so he didn’t have to go back to his apartment. “Where should I sleep?” He asked looking at her as she frowns. “Well the other bedroom is Peter’s room and I’d hate for you to sleep on the couch, because it isn’t comfortable unless you’re sitting. You don’t mind sleeping in my room do you?” She asked as his eyes widened. “I think you should be asking yourself that question. Would you mind if I slept in your room. This is your place. I am the guest.” He said placing his hand onto his chest as she chuckles. “I don’t mind.” She shrugged softly as Tony nods when she helped him into her room.
It was slightly weird because she hasn’t been with a man in a while, but it wasn’t like she was jumping in the sheets with him. He was a friend, who asked for her help in a time of need in which she was happy to provide for him. (Y/N) had put Peter to bed, he looked a lot like his father, but he acted like his mother despite being only one. Tony knew about what about happened with (Y/N) and her ex, but he never pushed on the issue. Sometimes Tony would take care of Peter if (Y/N) was working on a day she was supposed to be off and couldn’t find a babysitter. “Thank you for letting me stay, I really appreciate it.” Tony said sitting on the bed.
“It’s not a problem, you’ve helped me through a lot these past two years. So I’m happy to do something in return.” She smiles as a smile softly spread across his face. “Thank you still.” He chuckles when she sat down on her side of the bed. “I apologize now for any time Peter starts to cry. He really likes to wake up about three-thirty in the morning.” She chuckles as he shrugs. “It’s alright. I don’t mind.” Tony said before they laid down. “Good night.” She said softly. “Good night.” He said before she flicked off the lamp in the room. The only sound that was heard in the room was her fan as she started at the bedroom door in front of her vision.
She couldn’t sleep, not with Tony laying so close to her. She never thought about Tony other than a friend, but the more her mind was thinking the more she realized how much she had developed to care for him over time. She was snapped out of her thoughts by a sobbing Peter when she stood up see Tony’s eyes flutter open. Mumbling a quick apology she runs over to Peter’s room as she walks over to the rocking chair before she starts to feed him while she gently swayed in the chair. She smiled down as Peter started to doze off again when she slowly stood up when she started to lay him down. He started to sob loudly as she picked him back up.
“Of course you’re going to be difficult.” She let out a sigh before walking back to the room when Tony looked back as a smirk spread across his face. “Was he feeling lonely?” He asked as she nods. “Yeah, he doesn’t always like sleeping in his bed.” She said before crawling into the bed as she cradled him before laying Peter down into the middle of the bed. Both of them were watching Peter sleep, the innocent expression on his chubby little face had them both smiling. Suddenly she started to doze off when she looked at Peter one more time before her eyes fluttered shut. Tony noticed that they held the same expression when they slept as he thought about them being his own family causing his eyes to widened, shaking his head he shut his eyes.
In the morning (Y/N) woke up to probably the cutest sight she’s ever seen. Nestled in Tony’s chest laid Peter gripping Tony’s shirt while Tony had an arm under Peter’s head to cradle him closer. She bit her lip softly as she looked at them, not wanting to disturb them she slipped out of the bed to make breakfast for them. She came back about fifteen minutes later to see them still sleeping when she slowly removed Peter from Tony’s hold. Tony’s eyes snapped open ready to fend off anyone when he noticed it was (Y/N) as he scrubbed his eyes. “Good morning.” She smiles softly as she lays Peter’s sleeping form onto her chest. “Good morning.” He yawned.
“Did you sleep okay?” She asked as he nods stretching before sitting up when he rubs the back of his neck. “Better than I have in a while.” He chuckles before slowly removing the covers. “I hope you’re hungry. I made coffee and breakfast.” She smiles as Tony looks to her. “You are an Angel.” He said as she lets out a soft laugh. “Thanks I try.” She said before walking out towards the kitchen. “You can come out when you’re ready.” She called out from the kitchen. Tony finally trailed out a few minutes later to see Peter sitting in his high chair while (Y/N) sat in front of him feeding him. For some reason Tony couldn’t stop the smile that spread across his face at the two.
His eyes widened as the thought last night of being his own family flooded back in before he shook away the unwanted desires. “It smells good in here.” Tony said walking over to the stove as he grabs some food to eat before sitting down in front of the two. He chuckled as Peter babbled to his mother before he ate whatever she was spooning into mouth. She had a few pancakes there that she had cut up to give to him also while Tony watched them. “He’s a pretty clean baby when it comes to eating.” He chuckles as (Y/N) looks back. “Oh no, this is one of those rare occasions that he doesn’t fight me back.” She laugh causing Tony to laugh.
“Hey what time do you have to go into work?” Tony asked taking a drink of his coffee. “Around Noon, why?” She asked as Tony nods. “Well I know you keep hiring that Paige girl a floor down, but she’s expensive.” He said as she nods. “Don’t remind me.” She sighed softly. “Well I’m actually off today, but I was thinking about going out and getting a few things. I thought maybe I’d just take Peter for today at least. It help you because you don’t have to pay Paige and it helps me because I owe you for helping me.” He shrugged. She was about to protest, but it would be nice to not have to worry about Peter, because she trusted Tony. “Alright.” She nods.
“Alright.” He agreed. “Thank you.” She said chuckling as Peter looks at Tony before babbling when Tony grins. “Really? Is that right?” He asked as Peter continued to babble. (Y/N) laughs when Peter’s chubby hands slap against the tray as Tony gasps placing his hand onto his chest. “Well then.” He laugh when Peter grins before giggling as (Y/N) wipes the syrup off his face. “Can you watch him while I got take a shower really quick?” She asked as he nods. (Y/N) walks back the hallway as Peter and Tony look to each other when he stands up taking off the tray. “Come on little buddy. Let’s get you dressed so we can go out.” Tony grins carrying him back.
Laying Peter down onto the carpeted floor as he grabs new clothes for him while Peter tried to crawl away. Tony gasped playfully before pulling him back down into a laying position before he started to tickle Peter causing him to giggle. “And just where do you think you’re going? Huh?” He asked chuckling as Peter squirmed around. Tony pulls the shirt and pants on before struggling with Peter to get the socks and shoes before standing him up, but still holding him. “There.” Tony grins when Peter grabs at his face unaware that (Y/N) was standing behind them. She knew that Peter need a father in his life, but she hasn’t had time to put herself out there.
Shaking that thought from her mind she walked over as Peter babbles looking up to his mother before squealing excitedly, trying to climb up Tony to reach. “Ah! Hey Pete, you can’t do it that way.” He chuckles before handing him up to her as she takes him with a smile. “I will see you later my little boy.” She kisses his cheek while he placed a slobbery one onto hers. “Be good for Tony.” She said before Tony stood up as she looks at him. “Please be careful, and don’t do anything reckless with my child or I will drop you through the ground permanently.” She threatened as Tony nods. “Noted.” He chuckles when she smiles before they walk out.
She grabs her cup of coffee before she grabs her briefcase slipping on her heels as she looks back to them. “Say bye to Mommy.” Tony said picking up Peter’s hand as he waves it to her. She smiles softly before waving back as she chuckles when she walks out the door, once again thinking about how Peter needed a father. Tony was really good with him which kind of surprised her considering Tony told her how he didn’t know if he wanted kids of his own yet. Peter on the other hand, he wasn’t too fond of anyone that stepped in and tried to swoon her, but he giggled and babbled to Tony like he was meant to be there. She sighed softly before getting on the bus.
Tony had been staying at her apartment for almost three weeks now and he informed her that it would be at least another two weeks. It was fine by her, because he had been helping with things around the apartment any chance that he could get. The best part about all of this was the fact that Peter was growing closer and closer to Tony. Tony and (Y/N) grew closer, she found out that he has a sister who has her own kids which is why he is really good with them. It was the middle of the night while both Tony and (Y/N) laid closer and closer each night now almost touching, but neither one admitted to that little factor.
It was about three in the morning when Peter started to sob loudly from his room as (Y/N)’s eyes fluttered open grunting. She didn’t want to get up, but she had to before suddenly she felt Tony place a hand onto her shoulder. “Don’t worry. I’ll get him.” He whispered softly as she looks up at him with bleary eyes. “Are you sure?” She asked as he makes a noise of agreement. “Thank you.” She whispered when Tony walked out and over to Peter’s room. Peter was clinging to the side of the crib as he sobs looking up to Tony who immediately picks him up. “Awe, what’s the matter little man?” He asked as Peter cuddles against Tony’s chest before falling back asleep.
“Yeah that sounds about right.” He chuckles before he walked back to the bedroom to see (Y/N) was asleep again. She woke when he crawled into the bed as she looked to see Peter nestled in his arms causing her to smile. “Went right to sleep on your chest didn’t he?” She asked as he lays down onto the bed with Peter against him. “Yup.” He chuckled as she chuckled softly. “Yeah, he likes to do that a lot.” She said before kissing the back of Peter’s head. “Thank you again for getting him.” She mumbled feeling sleep start to consume her again. “It’s alright.” Tony chuckles softly before pulling the cover over them both. “I don’t mind.” He whispered as they fall asleep.
The morning Tony woke up to Peter squirming in his arms when his eyes fluttered open to see he had an arm around both Peter and (Y/N). His eyes widened seeing how close they were with Peter lodged in the middle of them as he whimpers looking hungry. Tony slowly removed his hand from (Y/N)’s side as he picks up Peter gently before walking out towards the kitchen with him. “Jeez Kid, I’ve been here for a few weeks and I seem to have grown a bond over you and your mother..” Tony glances back the hallway before setting Peter into his high chair. “I think I might actually have something for her… It’s definitely love. I’ve never been in love before.” He mumbled.
Peter watched as Tony started to make breakfast for (Y/N) considering it was her first day off in almost four weeks. “Ugh this was not what I was expecting to happen when I decided to say here.” He mumbled scratching the back of his head. “I mean I liked her before, she’s a beautiful woman, but… but I know that over the past few weeks that like developed into something more.” He said looking back to Peter as he chuckles softly. “I really don’t know what I’m telling you this, it’s not like you understand a single word that’s coming out of my mouth.” Tony shrugged. “Still it’s better to get things off my chest to someone, even if it’s you little man.” He chuckles softly.
(Y/N) woke up to see both Peter and Tony were gone as she frowns sitting up when she heard Peter’s infectious giggle out towards the kitchen. She stood up before opening the bedroom door as she slowly trailed out of the room to see Tony was making face at Peter to get him to giggle. She smiles softly watching them both, part of her knew she was starting to fall in love with Tony. After all that he has done for her, and seeing how good he is with Peter it was nice to finally have someone in her life. Despite never kissing, or anything like that. “Good morning.” She said as Tony looks up to her when his face lights up in a dark red blushing making her smile.
“U-Uh Good morning.” Tony stands up right as Peter gurgles happily when he reaches out for her. “How long have you been there?” He asked in a slightly worried tone. “Long enough to see you makin’ faces.” She laugh as Tony’s face darkens even more. “Ah, you saw that.” He chuckles as Peter giggles looking between the two. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.” She said softly when Tony nods. “Uh, I made breakfast if you’re hungry.” He mumbled softly. “Thank you.” She said before getting them both a plate as they sat down together like a normal family. “What do you want to do today?” Tony asked as (Y/N) looks at him. “Well we’re both off.” He shrugs.
“I was thinking about just cleaning the house and maybe watch some movies with this little turkey.” She said tickling under Peter’s chin as Tony smiles. “I can help with that.” He chuckles. “You don’t have to, also if you have clothes you need washed put them in the hamper.” She said when she stood up collecting the empty plates while Tony wiped Peter clean. (Y/N) started washing dishes as she glanced back to see Peter lay himself onto Tony’s chest when Tony smiled leaning down to place a kiss on the top of his head. She knew that Peter loved Tony, and she knew in this moment that she wanted Tony to be his father, but she couldn’t tell him.
It was a few hours later as they started to clean together while they moved in sync when they flipped on Mickey Mouse for Peter and plopped him into the playpen. They were finished when they saw Peter standing in the playpen whimpering as (Y/N) smiles sadly. “Awe does my baby boy want out of there?” She asked as Tony chuckles standing behind her when Peter reached out for Tony. “Dada!” He exclaims as they both froze at the proclaim from the child. “Did he just…?” Tony asked looking at her as her eyes widened in shock. “His first words…” She whispered covering her mouth as she tears up when Tony bit his lip. “I’m so sorry.” He started.
Suddenly she pulls him into a hug when she starts to laugh happily before turning back to pick up Peter. “You were supposed to say Mommy!” She laughs as Tony felt this flutter in his chest at Peter calling him Dad. It took him by surprise and how (Y/N) reacted made his face heat up when he swallowed softly. He didn’t know what to say, or do I mean he wasn’t Peter’s father, but right now he wanted nothing more than to be there as her husband and his father. He smiles watching (Y/N) rub her nose against Peter’s as he giggles kicking his feet out before she looked to Tony. “He wants you.” She said offering Peter to Tony who swallowed before taking him.
“Hey little man.” He chuckles feeling tears form in his eyes, because he knew truly had a family so hearing Peter call him Dad was just heartbreaking and heartwarming all in the same shot. Peter grabs at his face as he gurgles babbling again causing (Y/N) to smile at the two boys. “I’ll be back. I’m gonna go get the mail.” She said pointing to the door. “I think Peter is right where he wants to be.” She smiles as Tony nods. “Alright, be careful.” He said as she chuckles. “I’m just going downstairs, but I will.” She got on her shoes before going out of the apartment and down the steps. She couldn’t believe that Peter’s first words were ‘Dada’ and it was to Tony, knowing that this was fate, or something that was trying to get them together.
She unlocked her mail box before noticing the landlord of the house Nick Fury walking into the apartment. “Afternoon sir.” She smiles as he smiles back. “Afternoon Miss (L/N) where’s Peter?” Nick asked. “Oh he’s upstairs with Tony.” She said as he nods. “Actually speaking of Tony do you know when his apartment will be done?” She asked as he frown. “Tony’s apartment has been done for two days. I called him and told him he could go back. He hasn’t yet?” Nick asked as (Y/N)’s eyes widened before she laughed it off. “He must have forgotten, or I asked for his help.” She said getting her mail as Nick shrugged. “Who knows with that man.” He mumbled before walking off as (Y/N)’s entire face lit up in a dark red hue when she looked to the floor.
She went back up the steps before looking into the apartment seeing Tony was on the floor as he held up Peter causing the small boy to squeal and giggle. Her heart melted at the sight as she walked into the room clearing her throat when Tony looked over. “Hey.” He smiles sitting up holding Peter tightly as he stood up. “Hey yourself.” She chuckles before she set the mail onto the counter. “So I bumped into Nick.” She said as Tony placed Peter into the playpen. “Oh yeah?” Tony asked looking at her. “Yeah and he told me something really interesting.” She said as he swallows thickly looking nervous. “And that is?” Tony asked quieter. “He told me that your apartment has been done for two days and you could’ve gone back to it by now.” She smirks.
“Ah, that.” He said immediately looking at the floor before he rubbed the back of his neck as he let out a small sigh. “Well that’s because… I had gotten so use to waking up beside you and helping take care of Peter… I… I didn’t want to go back.” He said as her eyes softened before she looked at him. “I was always alone at my apartment but here I always felt like I was… I was... home.” He whispered before he blushed profusely. “I understand if you’re upset, and that you want me to leave.” He said when her eyes widened. “Tony-Tony! Stop right there. You know I’d never kick you out even if I was mad.” She said placing her hands onto her hips. “I mean… it’s oddly sweet that you didn’t want to leave.” She whispered smiling softly as he looks at her.
“Really?” He asked with a confused expression. “I guess I got use to having you around as well. Peter just adores you, he doesn’t always take after the men I tried to date after his father. He loves you and I know you love him to.” She said taking a few steps closer as Tony’s face heated up more. “And I liked waking up next to you, I liked doing things with you these past few weeks.” She said as she cups his face when he looks into her eyes. There was love, devotion, and happiness swirling within her irises as he slowly starts to smile. “S-So this feeling of something for you and Peter are mutual?” He asked softly in barely a whisper. “Does this answer your question?” She asked before suddenly pressing her lips to his own when he pulled her closer.
Tony immediately kissed back feeling like fireworks were going off inside his chest as his fingers entangled themselves into her hair. He’s never felt this way from just a kiss, it felt like the missing part of him was set into place, like everything was right in the world. Finally pulling away as he laid his forehead against her own as she chuckles tearing up when he frowns. “Is something wrong?” He asked in worry. “For once in my life… No.” She whispered grinning before hugging him tightly as Peter babbles looking at them when Tony smiles hugging her tightly back. “How about we go get the rest of your stuff out of your apartment? You already live here.” She whispered as he smiles. “You want to do that?” He asked softly. “Yes.” She smiles to him.
“Okay.” He smiles back. “If you would have me.” He whispered when (Y/N) looks to Peter. “What do you say little man? You want Tony to stay?” She asked when he started to bounce up and down in the playpen as he grins excitedly letting out a squeal. “That’s a yes from both of us then.” She smiles as he kisses her again before chuckling happily. “It’s nice… to have something like this.” He whispered. “It’s nice to have someone I can trust again.” She whispered wrapping her arms around his neck when he nods when he leans down scooping Peter back into his arms. “You know…” Tony trails off as they both look to him. “Peter could use a playmate.” He suggests as her face lit up before she nods. “I guess he could.” She whispered.
It was now almost a two years later and in that time Tony moved in, Peter turned three, they got engaged and married, and now (Y/N) sat on the couch leaning against Tony with a hand onto her four month belly. Peter patted her stomach before looking to Tony as he made a ‘ssh’ noise causing them both to chuckle. “This one likes to kick a lot.” She chuckles as Tony smiles. “Probably has your can-do attitude.” He smirks as Peter giggles. “It’d be nice to have another girl in the apartment so I’m not only.” She chuckles softly when Tony held Peter in his lap. Peter lays down in between them as he cuddles his mother’s bump while watching the movie in front of him. Tony smiles looking at them both as (Y/N) starts to doze off. He never thought he’d ever be like this with her and it all started with ‘Hello’.
