"No AI. Let me do the work." -Sunok Frank
Mark the best son 🥺🥺
IMMA SOB STOP
My Favorite Nomination for Women’s History Month (2026):
Sun-ok Frank, aka... "Momiplier"!
So I got back from watching “Iron Lung” and decided to hop back into the Markiplier fan space for the first time in nearly a decade, just to see what else he’s made. And one of the things that I can't believe I missed was that he made a Documentary in 2022... about his Mom’s escape from North Korea. And this was based off a book that his Mom wrote about both him and their family’s experience.
So I dropped everything to go and watch it, and holy shit, if you haven’t, you NEED to. My takeaways:
1) (Obviously) Mark’s mama is a f*cking g. That’s all.
2) It's a story about hope, courage, love, and perseverance. The importance of knowing where you came from and to understand the things that make you who you are now is something that, in my opinion, a lot of POC really need to hear right now. Ms. Frank is a smart, funny, and resilient woman with a backbone of solid steel, and her story is one that needs to be shared.
But to me the best thing that stands out is the truly heartwarming relationship between her and her son. It's really a story about them, and how they succeeded through tragedy and hardship to become who they are today. They lift each other up and make each other stronger. <3
You can watch their documentary here: "Markiplier: From North Korea (2022)"
Note: I haven’t found an official place to purchase the documentary or support it monetarily at this time, and if anyone has that information, please let me know ASAP. Likewise, Momiplier’s Book is currently sold out at https://markiplierfromnorthkorea.com/. However, she does have her own YouTube channel, so go Subscribe to her there to show your support and for her wonderful cooking tutorials!
(On a humorous note, this was how I found out that MY mother was already a fan of Momiplier, but had no idea who Markiplier was. I got back from the theater with my head exploding all over my sketchpad and talking her ear off about Iron Lung theories the whole weekend, and then showed her the documentary I found, and she just casually goes “Oh I know her, I follow her recipes”. ...Apparently she just has a whole host of food-tubers that she casually follows, and she’d been subscribed to “Momiplier’s Kitchen” for a hot minute and somehow never put together that her son is the same dude that I’d been raving about.
She just saw cool recipes, cute doggos, and a Queen getting ready to stab her grown-ass son for eating the ingredients and getting in the way and was like “I can relate to this”.)
3) Bonus: these absolutely stunning photos Ms. Frank shared with her fans from her Insta: https://www.instagram.com/p/DBcf-K6TaNa/
Memento Mori.
Gosh, has it truly been 5 years? It feels like just yesterday I saw the first video, and I clicked on it, intrigued, not knowing I was about to be part of a once in a lifetime experience. It's truly mind-blowing to think others have never ,and will never, experience what we did. The laughs we got off of each video, the happiness it gave us, seeing a new video pop up during different time periods of our lives... For me, it was the anchor that kept me happy, sane, during 2020-2021. Impossible to think about that time era without this channel, without the silly videos, and the fandom's jokes, all that gave me a sense of normalcy.
This whole fandom shares a special bond; I love the jokes in different comment sections and the references to the videos only we have seen in full.
What I'm trying to say is, thank you, Mark, Ethan( Eef <3), and Amy, for the amazing experience we had. <3
MOMIPLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Between Mark's treatment of Helpy during Help Wanted 2 and his comments during Momiplier's let's play of Pizzeria Simulator, I can't be the only one thinking...
Mark should absolutely voice Helpy if the animatronic shows up in a future FNAF movie, right?
Hear me out, he has experience voice acting a cartoon bear (hi 505!), and if Helpy is a character the audience/other characters in universe are meant to trust, what better (and funnier) way to do it than to give him a surprisingly deep, charismatic voice?
Not to mention he just really seems to get the character of Helpy in a way that most people who are taken in by that "demon animatronic's" cute exterior don't. He even points out that Helpy's role of helping is fulfilled by showing the dangers of how NOT to do things, which what is that if not Markiplier Makes and many an Unus Annus video in a nutshell?
I'm just saying, it could definitely work and this idea is not completely built on Mark telling his mom that Helpy is a masochist who likes pain.
Mark and his mother went live to announce a new channel! It’s called Momiplier’s Kitchen! No videos yet but please subscribe! ❤️
