The media and internet users have amplified this hoax to the point where schools have warned parents about it and parents are taking away childrens internet access or phones altogether.

Even the Safer Internet Centre and NSPCC say its a hoax.

Youtube has said no actual videos involving the Momo challenge have been found, no self harm or suicides have been linked to this.

The mass hysteria over this is harming children more than the challenge.
