APPRECIATION POST OF MoonSun
The softest girfriends i ever meet
mamamoo
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts/comments about Mamamoo appropriating Indian/Buddhist culture(*Solar is said to be a Buddhist, as well as about 20-30% of Koreans). I know a lot of us, myself included, will see a headline or posts that says “xyz did abc bad thing” and believe it without looking further into it. So, I’m making a little compilation of all of the comments on the video that I came across from those who are part of the culture/religion yall are saying they’re appropriating, and you can decide for yourself where you stand.
for all those haters, especially not full blooded indian for me, india moomoo and all of my friends, we don't feel like mamamoo trying to madk fun with our culture and we dont get offended!all haters below, please don't try to acted like u know my country culture at all and so well, there is nothing to hate with this mv at all ! sorry for my bad english, y'all haters gonna hate in anyway, no matter what they do, don't waste your time to commenting something u don't like at all, go back to your bed and have a sweet dream! here's not welcome you. from an full blooded indian who support our lovely mamamoo
I'm an actual Indian and I really don't get what the fuss is about!! I mean we Indians love it when others embrace our culture so why the fuss?
I know. Americans ._. Always getting offended. Always.
These are my thoughts as well, but when I came to the US I learned that some people here are so sensitive they would get offended over things that even we don't find offensive and feel like they're doing us a favor smh
I, an Indian MooMoo, had imagined Mamamoo wearing traditional Indian attire since like forever, and your miserable, NON-INDIAN WOKE ASSES HAD TO GO AND RUIN THE ONE INDIANIZED THING THEY HAD DONE!! AND FOR WHAT? ALL IN THE NAME OF CULTURAL APPROPRIATION? YOUR "EDUCATED - ILLITERATE" ASSES FIRST OF ALL DON'T NEED TO PREACH TO INDIAN MOOMOOS ABOUT WHAT ALL WE SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT FIND OFFENSIVE! COZ WEARING A BINDI SURE AS HELL ISN'T ANYWHERE CLOSE TO BEING OFFENSIVE! YOU HATERS AND BANDWAGON-JUMPERS CAN GO CHOKE!!!!
I am also a Buddhist, but they did't have any sense of irony or disrespect, so I didn't feel discomfort, I believe that because the lyrics mentioned "Buddha" word, so the director has this arrangement. A non-malicious, short of one or two seconds scene, but was magnified scrutinized... I personally think those who react so much, some may not be the believers at all, just want to find fault on purpose, with sensitive topics to attack them, increase their negative evaluation.
Tbh me being an Indian, I and my friends don't feel offended about it. Seriously people nowadays are so sensitive and people who are non-indian commenting about the bindi between their foreheads STOP IT! PLEASE it's annoying and other Indians who watched the first one didn't feel offended too, it's time to HAJIM
I wonder how many of those haters/ppl that are offended know that around 15% of Koreans are Buddhists (including Solar). My grandmother is a korean buddhist and invited me (an atheist, Korean mixed race) to her temple once just to experience Buddhism and put an Urna/Bindi (dot) on my forehead. She shared her culture/beliefs with me and I was very greatful for that experience. I don't see anything offensive by that...
To the people who are acting as if this is offensive in my part, y'all can fuck off. To the arguments such as "well red bindis are religious not aesthetic", bindis in general have no correlation to religion but more so culture so red/black bindis are not even religious. They were NOT mocking my culture or my religion. I'm a super religious person and I have absolutely no tolerance for culture appropriation so you can't even claim that I'm being biased. This was NOT cultural appropriation. They were not using it for any sort of aesthetic reason without being aware of the culture of it. They merely used it for a Buddhist joke that I found quite funny for like a couple of seconds and it's done. So, stop making it seem as if these girls are purposefully being racist or ignorant because you are looking at them from their past experiences. Let us decide if we find this offensive or not. And, according to the majority of us, this is not offensive.
We, Indian are never offended with cultural appropriation. If someone wears saree, bindi, etc any hint of indian culture,we embrace them as one of us.Instead of getting offended, we love and cherish them. So,Ya'll haters better back the fuck off and stop showing that fake concern of other cultures... Our culture, our rules...India is rich and diverse in culture, different languages, etc.We are more than happy if someone showcases or highlight our culture to the world. STOP BEING SENSITIVE AND GETTING TRIGGERED ALL THE FUCKING TIME, ALL YOU FAKE BITCHESSS!!!!!!! Have a nice day Ya'll
As a Pakistani I'm touched. They recognised us south Asians CHAYZEEE
So anyway, Mamamoo and Moomoo’s fighting!
