#perleskitchen Getting a head start in tonight’s dinner: Eggroll in a bowl. (Recipe in comments) The meat takes the longest to cook. The rest is slaw. I’m doing green and red cabbage and some carrot for more color. I don’t usually add the egg as I cook enough for leftovers and eggs don’t do well. Wednesdays are still hard. #perlesjournal I often wonder why in the middle of sorting thru old files to shred, suddenly there’re pictures. And they’re not from the same year. Pink jumpsuit 1992 age 40 in my first SS apt in 15th. It was a #momsdayout which back then was a Friday or Saturday as I worked a 4-day week at Little Professor. Christmas at mom’s kitchen bar 1995 aged 46 w my brother Richard and others. The last was Christmas at the Southside House that I briefly shared w brother @billypharo I think 1989 so 40. I remember the tree. I’d dragged home a fallen tree branch, sprayed it here n there fake snow and decorated. Then a real throwback to probably my 14th birthday. That’s @billypharo in the highchair. I think that’s @kskathyw And I remember baking and icing that angelfood cake w the wrong icing. Cutting a slice it squashed the cake. The danger of decluttering often has detours. #perlesjournal Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit!!!** For Luck. And it’s suddenly September — Fall for most of us even though the Fall equinox is 21 days away. Twenty-one days. And Mom gone now for just 20 days a little after midnight tonight. Still feels unreal. But time marches inexorably on. All too soon, we’ll turn back the clocks. Thanksgiving in 3 months; Solstice in 4. Looking for new traditions for the holidays, as I expect mom’s house to have new owners by then. Like my rabbit I’ll be moving forward, but thanks to FB Memories, I’ll get to glance back from time to time and revisit #momsdayout **NOTE: "Rabbit rabbit rabbit" is a superstition found in Britain and N. #perlesaerie Lit a few candles on my altar this morning. The red one was one of many mom and I bought a few weeks ago on #momsdayout Drinking my morning coffee out of one of her favorite mugs she gave me a few years back. Skulls n Cossbones. Made a few trips to/from car which is about as much #perleswalkabout as there’ll be today. Fortunately Sunday one of my channels (ION) marathons NCIS episodes all day - one of my favorites. So I’ll have that as distraction while I restore order to my kitchen and living room.
