union station personal reflections
i loved that there were greek inspirations but it was still very modernized. symmetrical designs and geometric designs are prominent. there are incredible light panels that lighten the mood, depending on the weather and the day. there is always a busy aura within the station. i love that every single person there has their own story and i would love to people watch one whole afternoon
union station
designed by daniel burnham, but finished by grahm, anderson, probst, and white
started in 1913, completed in 1925
cost 65 million, but funded by the city
used for train travel
greektown personal reflections
upon more research, i thought it was sad that there isn’t more greek culture left within chicago. greektown has become very modernized, with only few places still remaining fully greek. it is also sad that they made greektown relocate several times because of the construction. i personally love greek architecture because of it’s symmetrical designs. there are old hints of old fashioned greek life in greek town as it is one of the older looking parts of chicago
