The stewards are investigating if Nico Rosberg purposely went off at the Mirabeau corner to stop his team mate, Lewis Hamilton from taking the pole in what appears to be the closest battle between the two Mercedes team mates.

It just appears naturally impossible to me since he was driving so fast and to pull such a gimmick at Monaco is like taking a huge risk since everyone knows that Monaco is an unforgiving track. Plus if he deliberately went off, Martin Brundle would have noticed it since he has pretty sharp vision and remarkable eye-sight for him to not notice such thing.

Although there's a space to say so since Mirabeau is just a short distance to the old Loews Hairpin now known as the Grand Hotel hairpin - the most enduring corner of the track and the only place such stunts can be pulled but still Nico does not appear as someone who would do such a thing.  

These two has the 1960s aura in them, not like Senna and Prost but more like Hill and Clark, team mate and rivals without all the usual bitterness. Hate to see that fade away ~
