Regarding the use of corrections in my previous text: yes, I did use it solely to make it more concise, cleaner, and easier to read, as well as to correct a few mistakes that might have been present. Honestly, I don't really care about that aspect.
THAT being said, I've been playing IMVU for over 10 years, and it's become increasingly clear how unmoderated and poorly managed the platform has become. At this point, it often feels like a breeding ground for predators and a place where vulnerable people can be manipulated, groomed, and pushed into spirals of mental distress and unhealthy dependency. There is virtually no staff presence anymore, nor any moderation that users can reliably turn to. This leaves the community wide open to individuals who take advantage of vulnerable or mentally unstable people for their own amusement or gratification. What saddens me even more is knowing that these individuals often operate in groups, sharing private photos, blackmailing others, harassing victims, and encouraging each other's behavior.
This is why I want to emphasize the importance of victims coming together, documenting what happened, and taking action against people who engage in this kind of conduct. I am not seeking attention, recognition, or notoriety. That's precisely why I'm posting anonymously. However, as I said before, I've dealt with people like this myself, and I also have friends who have experienced similar situations on IMVU and from what I've seen, the things that stop these individuals are exposure, accountability, and public awareness. Even better if their actions can be exposed beyond the screen or reported to the appropriate authorities when applicable. Unfortunately, many of them hide behind aliases, fake identities, and alternate accounts, allowing them to continue their behavior without consequences.
Sadly, accusations alone are not evidence. Words are not proof. That is why documentation matters. Screenshots matter. Records matter. Victims supporting one another matters and without collective action and proper evidence, we allow people like those shown below to continue operating freely. It doesn't matter whether they are men or women, everyone should be held accountable for their actions.
